Forums - Gaming - Mirrors Edge, why didn't it sell more?

I, like many of you (I'm sure), first looked at the game and thought "ehe, that dosn't look like such a great game." then I downloaded the demo. I love it! I have been working my way through the game and although I am full of fail when it comes to this game, the possibilities are endless, and I find it very enjoyable. It takes actual skill to play the game and it just gives you a sence of accomplishment when you dial in that perfect wallrun/turnaround/jump combo, or sucessfully disarm a small swat team. So why aren't more people raving about this game? Discuss!!!

It's short and has lots of technical issues.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

because there is no gun in it :D
i like the game, just too short and the story is not that great

I also hear that the whole first person platforming didn't work very well, and that they tried and failed at combining an action-adventure/shooter with a platformer.

Regardless, I haven't played the game, so I can't be sure, but it sounds like the game didn't sell more because it wasn't good enough

Story isn't too great, and the gun/disarm/combat thing is pretty worthless. but the game is still great, and has an amazing amount of replay in it.

The time trials alone make this a worthy purchase. Try getting 3 stars on all time trials and beat the all the speed runs in the game!! The games is simply addicting.

The combat portions of the game suck, this is true, but the rest of the game is pretty cool. and if you ever run into a technical problem (not sure exactly what you are talking about.) just call Faith a fat cow with arthritis and try again!

Story was terrible. Gameplay was alright, but frustrating at times. They should've focused more on making the game a sort of free-roaming experience where you deliver packages instead of shoving that godawful story in there.

IMO the game is very limited and boring. It's linear like a platformer, but unlike a platformer there's not much else to do than just run and jump. U dont collect things and the fighting/shooting action was very limited.

I didn't buy it because it was short and lacked real time competitive multiplayer.

Race to the finish/objective kind of multiplayer would have been amazing.

Also, the story didn't appeal much to me.

Two words, Time Travel... The story so far isn't that bad (I'm only on chapter 3), and I am perfectly content with the endless possibilities of the running and jumping sequences.
