4. Its not a copy-paste game ... common , it is the sam egame mechanics just like OoT , just with batter graphics and different controls . The only dofferent Zelda that was really original since OoT is WW . And if you would just play a half of an hour both GoW and Gow2 you would know that the two game is far from being the same ... Wait they are , just like OoT and TP ... got my point .

There is no denying the similarity between Zelda games, but there will always be that similarity, they do not use the same engine though and are by no means the same game no matter what argument you make. GOW and GOW2 are far more similar than any two Zelda games (with obvious exception of oracle of ages and oracle of seasons), that's the whole point. In fact, GOW and GOW2 can be considered closer than your average sequel period, even the ones CKMLB brought up which I pointed out rather clearly.. got my point.

I'm not bashing God of War 2, its a great game. I love the game. I don't even have a problem with it being like the original, I just made an observation about the fact and Ckmlb took it to heart and started this bitter discussion. Pity we all can't just learn to enjoy the games we love.

Since God of War 2 never finished the story of Kratos people assume that a 3rd one is on the way.

I would say it about wrapped it up. I mean those guys on Kratos side are some pretty heavey hitters.  I guess they can finish matters then can turn on Kratos and then Kratos can kick their asses then become some mega highlander type "I have all the power" guy.  Then they're kinda stuck.

Actually after that they could totally have him creating his own "gods" in a 4th game where you don't play as Kratos but instead the people who are destined to become "gods" with each character getting their own story for a level or two where they show why they are worthy of becoming the new god of "whatever".

Then the 5th game could be them fueding with the Egyptian gods or some other pantheon like the Norse, or you could make that a RTS spinoff like Halowars. (Norse being the more popular choice, but the Egyptians are easier to streotype as "evil" for whatever reason.)

Or if they really wanted to get creative the Summerian gods coming back.  The Summerian gods pretty much were evil.

Then i'd be one step closer to the videogame i've wanted since the 6th grade.  A turn based or streetfighter type game involving gods of ancient myth.  A pantheon wars game involving 2 or more of the pantheons would be epic even if the greeks were just a bunch of replacements.

Did he just say SMG is the same thing as SM64 and then go one to list a bunch of things that do make it different? Seriously, have you watched many videos of SMG and play SM64?

While I agree with your other games in your list (RE4 aside since it's the same game, lmao) as is the nature of sequels but the departure in SMG from SM64 is rather huge.

Jaffe's new studio is called Eat, Sleep, Play and will continue to focus on PS platforms.

Yeah the difference is huge cause you know you have a few more suits and you are in space and walk around on spherical planets... and it looks better. The differences are not huge, it's a sequel. The last Mario game was way off by making the focus of the game shooting water at stuff the whole time and that was a bad turn of events so this is very welcome. A direct sequel to Mario 64 would be amazing, somehow this is a negative statement?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

ALRIGHT

I have an idea that will make this a lot more productive.

Rather than getting in arguements about a bunch of other random games that have nothing to do with the topic, discussing the similarities between them and their predecessors, why don't we take a step back, get back on topic, and discuss GoW 1 and 2, and the changes that GoW 2 had made over GoW 1 that truly reinvented the game, rather than making it a copy and paste of the first.

That would be a much more productive discussion.

So ck, or whoever else was/wants to defend the arguement of GoW2 being more than a copy and paste sequel, tell us, what new elements were brought to GoW2 that made it really feel like a sequel?
