Oh wow. People from the West said they prefer western RPG's to the Japanese ones. I never would have thought. That it's so close though is the real statement.

Um..dude...it's not as obvious as one would think. America has on average been right behind Japanese in JRPG purchases. JRPG's were also favored more in the past. Of course WOW would sell great on the PC, because PC gamers get games which are in all persons, but make it more personable. JRPG's are not games that are personable people today are finding that Americans love customization and open world.

What were those big RPGs that America fell behind?

Final Fantasy? We haven't had one of those.

Kingdom Hearts? We haven't had one of those either.

The Tales series has never sold well in America.

I thought that JRPGs would have been more popular. But we haven't too many good ones this generation I think.
I'm personally a JRPG fan.

ugh no.

JRPG >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>every other gender> WRPG.
IMO!

their storyline suck and too mixed up with FPS. seriously mass effect and fable 2 main selling point was there was sex scene.

i would care about any other gender RPG. it's blasphemy.

and the focus on open world, no character leave you with no one to remenber , empty ending. (fallout3)

This post is hilarious!....seriously...for the credibility's sake, you're joking right?

I agree with him! WRPGs still aren't as good as JRPGs.

Those American purhcases that were right behind Japan, I was speaking about were last gen. Sorry if I didn't add that earlier. This gen JRPG's are selling horrible period on consoles.

I like western RPGS better. THey seem to have a variation of storylines whereas every JRPG involves getting an ancient magical sword or something and saving the world from some evil boss. Western RPGS offer more personal freedom and usually have a choice system that affects how you play the game

Long Live SHIO!

Personally JRPGs of late feel like they were written for a younger audience, things like morals, truth, love and friendship seem to be more important than an actual desire to smite evil and frag alien ass.

Plus the current batch of WRGs seem to contain a lot of good projectile weapons and as the years have gone by I've found myself quite fond of the idea of doing something other than running up to target A striking multiple times, then running up to target beat and repeating.

Of course they are, but the ones that sold well last generation haven't released this generation. (FF, KH, etc.)

In your undying agreement, there is nothing factual about his post. It seriously is a joke.
