Forums - Nintendo - Did you hear about the Ghost Busters Wii version?

You know what OP, I own a 360, Wii with a HD tv.

I'm buying the Wii version and going to enjoy it with my friends.

WHO ARE YOU GONNA CALL?

Dats right.  Nobody.

Look to me like Real Ghostbusters, which was far more awesome than Ghostbusters 2.

But really, are we seriously going to claim that a fucking GHOSTBUSTERS game is supposed to be some hardcore adult title, because really, it ain't. GB is mainstream, family friendly, just like every other movie tie in game out there (save Riddick and Goldeneye).

As for me, I'll wait for the reviews, and buy whichever one sounds like its the most fun to play. The graphics won't have much impact (unless you find watching a Bill Murry avatar stuck firmly in the uncanny valley to be fun).

They are all built on infernal engine which is a multiplat engine that works on all consoles this gen.

I'd like to add that Red Fly made Mushroom Men with the Infernal Engine. Although that game had a some gameplay issues and suffered from a lack of content, it looked damn sexy.

The fact that Red Fly made Ghostbusters Wii look pretty damn good and support splitscreen is a testament to the strength and flexibility of the Infernal Engine. I hope more developers look at using this middleware, because from the perspective of a Wii owner, it's better than anything the Unreal engine has ever done for me.

And now we're going to bash Wii designs, great. I don't have complains about this, and I don't see how this'll affect the game, oh yes I fell less mature playing with cartoony designs Booh. Booh.

Do you really think this is about this one game? This is so much bigger than that. This is about the developers respecting the wii instead of putting their C team on Wii projects.

So using realistic graphic makes the developement studio an A team and use a different art style makes the other studio a C team? Now I got your point.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Hopefully the game doesn't get the Ray and Venkman characters completely mixed up .  The 'Bill Murray' character in the show was named Ray and the Aykroyd character was Venkman.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Yeah, I read the whole thread. I do that.

I just wanted to sum things up.

I'm mad that devs are making this game look different than the other versions. It makes me think that they have the mentality that only "kiddy looking" games sell on the wii.

Perhaps you are looking at the situation backwards.  The Wii iteration is most fitting for the content and demographic.  It could therefore be concluded that the PS3/X360 versions had to be changed because the family friendly art style would not sell well on those consoles.

Note the rating difference.  Why is the PS3/X360 version rated T?  It's based on a PG movie series.  It seems more like the PS3/X360 version is the one alterd to fit a fanbase not totally fitting the movies demographic.

Most GB fans are older than me (21). This franchise is aimed at 30 somethings, not 10 year olds.

Do you know what E10 means? It does not mean 10 year olds. Means Everyone 10 and above.

T means T. so 13+.  HUGE DIFFERENCE MAN.

What? When did they change this rule?

The never changed the Rule that is what E10 means, I guess you just never knew what it ment.

*sigh*....

Don't worry Jrpg, some people just don't know what a joke is :P

Indeed.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."
 C.S. Lewis
