Forums - Nintendo - Did you hear about the Ghost Busters Wii version?

I think both versions are awesome just because it is Ghostbusters. Not sure which version I would go with at the moment if I purchased the game but I am leaning towards the PS3/360 version because I remember the movies a lot more than the cartoons.

Still, it is pointless to argue about looks of this game. Some people just have different preferences and that is perfectly fine.

Ghostbuster fans should be happy regardless. There is no way this game will be as horrible as the NES game.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

That Wii picture got a laugh out of me. Wii owners talk about how they want more mature games and this game is living up to the dumb jokes people make about the console.

yes because ghostbuster is a VERY MATURE GAME on ANY of the consoles lol. Just because it has more relistic gfx doesn't make it any more mature. It is the game play that will determine the rating.

Obviously they gave the Wii version a cartoonish look so it would appeal to kids. While the HD versions will appeal to a more mature audience. End of discussion.

It's actually quiet the opposite, I find most older people to enjoy things not as realistic personally since they deal with real life everyday and if they want to sit down and play a video game, they would usually prefer things that would drag them outside of reality and more into the imagenary. I think you are thinking of the mature audience as people who are about 16-24ish and even then, they are not always about realisim. If you ask me personally, I'd rather deal with the more cartoony look and IR control and not really care about graphics too much when it's a game like ghostbusters. Besides, it's not like mature games need to look realistic, it never was that way in the past, and it still won't be that way in the future.

I also already have a feeling that the Wii version will rate higher when I first saw what they did with the games, and I wouldn't be surprised if it did rate higher, graphics doesn't make the game, it's the overall and most importantly, the game play aspect of a game, if they can nail the Wii controls, it will be a better game despite some people's distaste in the cel-shaded style. I'd take an average looking woman who can do house chores home over a hot one who does crap nothing anyday.

oh and also, JRPG, what you are arguing about with other people are just moot points, serves no real purpose, and I don't know why other people are actually arguing with you over something as trivial as this.

i loled hard when i saw ps360 screenshot - uber realistic enviroment and this face taken straight from human models used in Toy Story movie. i actually dig wii version - artstyle is based on tv show and gameplay is quite impressive as well. if someone thinks that its watered down - think again. graphics looks really good and stylish and wii remote controls are well implemented and tight.
besides this game is more suited on wii than ps360 no mater what artstyle it would get and will probably sell more on nintendo console - personally i don't see the point in buying ps360 version if wii version has superior controls with same amount of content - it is just one of those games that you want to play on the wii(same was with Shawn White) thanks to the wii remote.

Let me get this straight.

You're complaining that the Wii iteration of the video game representation of a family movie is done in a family friendly art style?  Do I have that correct?   A family movie - family friendly art style.  And you're complaining and demanding respect for the Wii of developers by suggesting they use a realistic art style on Wii of a family oriented movie.

OK, now that we have the facts, carry on.

Yeah, you did not read the whole thread. Why would you? That would be a huge waste of time.

I did up to that post (and I'll likely read the rest) and I can honestly say it was a waste of time.  Aside from MadKiller contradicting himself, I think this thread really comes down this: the Wii is damned no matter what happens.

  • The developer can do something like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and go for the same look as the HD consoles and get ridiculed for looking like shit.
  • The developer can go for a stylized look that sets it apart from the HD consoles and they get ridiculed for not trying to look like the HD games.

Did I get that about right?

By the way, love the Wii trailer just released today!

And now we're going to bash Wii designs, great. I don't have complains about this, and I don't see how this'll affect the game, oh yes I fell less mature playing with cartoony designs Booh. Booh.

Do you really think this is about this one game? This is so much bigger than that. This is about the developers respecting the wii instead of putting their C team on Wii projects.

C Team for Force Unleashed - tried to make a game like the HD versions.

C Team for Shaun White - had some independant thought and created a different game.

Looks like Ghostbusters is trying to follow the lead of the more financially and critically successful model.

But thank you for your valiant efforts to save the Wii from evil cartoony graphics. Let's start a petition for Nintendo to hire a fat guy with a mustache for character models.

Shaun White only did better because of the Wii balance board gimmick.

You really nead to either start thinking or stop talking. It's that plain and simple because you're starting to go off the deep end saying things like what i highlighted above. It plainly shows that you never actually played the game. nor compared it to the hd vesrion. From the trailers we've seen the Wii version looks really good and seems to at least have that GB feeling to it whereas the HD version looks practically like a GTA4 clone.  Do not, i repeat, DO NOT even dare to think that the game is bad just because You do not like the art style.

Apparently you think the owrd "gimmick" means something negitive.

But you're 21.  You're not supposed to have an interest in the non-realistic family friendly art style on Wii regardless of content or surperior interactivity.

At least that's what the Wii haters tell me.

Go look at screen shots from some orignal xbox games, those game even hold up today. There is no reason Wii games can't look that good.
