Why would anyone who doesn't have Wii be excited about WM+ ?
Yes it will sell millions but seriously how is it going to be system syller i can't understand.

There is some merit to a claim like that. Waggle was not at all interesting for a lot of PS360 gamers and it just MIGHT be a bit more interesting for them IF all the games will support it.

If you compare the leading/second/third place consoles from last 2 gens(from the launches) you will see that: Wii has done: 3,2m better than ps2 in america 3,1m better in eu 1,5m worse in jap =4,8m better than last gen number 1 console overall 360 has done: 3,3m better than xbox in america 4,5m better in eu 500k better in jap =8,3m better than last gen number 2 console overall ps3 has done: 500k better than gc in america 6,5m better in eu 200k worse in jap =6,8m better than last gen number 3 console overall. Raw numbers wise second and third place consoles have done better than wii and percentage wise a lot better. :O |
If the Wii is having more sales than the PS2 did with only 50% of the market when the PS2 had 80%, then you just proved your question that the Wii really is expanding the market that much.
man in reality we don't know what will happen.
Let's see
Nintendo this gen so far hasn't:
- Had a price drop
- Released different colours
- Released limited edition versions
These three things may or may not sky rocket sales.

I don't follow your logic.

Do those colors really matter for home consoles outside japan? :P
I think Wii might even be going down in the end. HD consoles will be gaining market share, especially once PS3's price drops, while Wii doesnt' seem to be affected that much by anything else than trends. Of course a price cut could help Wii. I think we'll see if Wii is a fad by the end of 2010. I'm not sure if it really matters though, as they'll be at 80M at least by then, even if it start falling before it. 80M by the end of 2010 ought to be enough to win this gen easily, and it's probably going to be more than that.
And that's not to say Wii is going down... That's only to say it's definitely possible.
Anyway, have you noticed how actual sales numbers seem to pretty accurately correspond market shares right now? It seems about 100M consoles have been sold this gen.

Well if you weren't interested in motion sensing in first place would you be interested in more accurate motion sensing with a new collection of mini-games ?
To catch hardcore x360/ps3 players on Wii - hmm I don't know maybe really good Star Wars game would do the trick.

I was not interested in motion sensing because it really is just a replacement for pushing a button in most games. I don't really care about minigames which use motion sensing but IF every game will use WM+ (assuming it will be good) I MIGHT be interested to try it out. IF there will be good games supporting it. We shall see.
