It's true. Voice acting definitely takes up some space!

One way of looking at it is that the X360 version has more value because you get 4 discs for the price of one.
Ok. Demos often take up to a quarter of the size of the full game. You need to have the game engine, physics, and whatnot all there. Example? Empire:Total War was a HUGE 20gigs. Demo? 5 gigs. Demo had 2 battles and a tutorial, thats it.
Left 4 dead takes 7.5gigs. Demo? 1.7 gigs. And it was 2/5 of one quarter of the campaigns without versus... so 1/20 of half the game. My point has been made.

The comparison isn't valid because of the large difference between normal games and RPGs. Every single character in Final Fantasy XIII is voiced acted. So, that is a WHOLE of space right there gone to audio. Then of course we have cinematics and cutscenes.

Outlawaron. Even adding another 10 gb for FF13 cutscenes would still take the game to between 30- 35 gb. I'm gonna do some research on demos for all kinds of games and see if the 1/4 theory pays out. :)

Well Tales of Vesperia had a 479 MB demo and the game was 5.9 GB.

Outlawaron is 100% correct.
Blue Dragon full game size is 19.9gb
Blue Dragon demo is exactly 1gb.
So Based on evidence of a heavily cutscened game like Blue Dragon from Mistwalker, I'd say FF13b could be anyones guess.
I wager on 45gb. Look at it this way. With 360 install we will know exactly how many gb's FF13 is. It tells you the exact size of each disc. :)

Although, you must consider the compression that will happen on the 360 version. So the total won't be the same.
However, there are other things to consider. PS3 has an advantage in that you don't have to reuse assets as you would with multiple discs (menus, title screens, opening movie, speacial effects, etc.).

the price of 4 DVDs does not come near to the price of a single Blu-ray disc. In fact you can get a 100pk DVD for the price of a single blu-ray... and if you want value, CDs are more expensive than DVDs lol...back to Playstation 1 & Dreamcast are we? lol
Well i highly doubt it will be 7-12 discs. i can see 3-5 at the most but no more than 5
