but there are so many devolutionary forces in this country. ie many cultures, multitudes of languages, and many religions. we need alot of things that will bring us together.

Christianity doesn't always bring people together. There are several branches of Christianity that prefer to kill each other. Ask the Reformation, the Defenestration of Prague, northern Ireland, or the KKK (which have their own branch of Christianity as well).

Communism being against religion does not mean being against religion makes you a communist. You just affirmed the consequent.
