I'm saying not every law as with homosexuality is embraced by some christians but laws like our sovereignty as free people murder and cheating and simple values like thrift one of which that our goverment doesnt listen to. Laws like abortion and euthanize that chip away the value of human life.
And how obama wants us to give up our sovereignty and allow the UN to decied if we can spank our children and so forth. Don't get me wrong i want children to be abused but spanking done right is not wrong and it should not be decieded by a select few who think they know better me or you.
Sorry off topic a little.

Some gentle Christians are pacifts and have protested against many wars throughout history. Some Christians declare Crusades and Holy Wars in which the murder of a heathen will get you into Heaven. Some Christians believe executions are simply murder, other think it is a just form of punishment. Some Christians who are considered "liberal" don't mind abortion to a certain point, blah blah blah. You get my point. Not only is a Theocratic government a mistake because of the religious diversity we have in America, but the philisophical diversity we have within Christianity.

And again, countries such as Iran are theocratic democracies. Do we really want to model our government and laws after them?

Works for me.  I'm not Christian so I don't and won't follow Christian laws.

Right and wrong are defined by society, and as society changes over time, so does morality.  It used to be morally acceptable to own other people.  Christians did this.  So even Christian societies change their morality over time.

We'd have to ignore most of Leviticus anyway, since it states that women can't have short hair and men can't have long hair, and a bunch of other crazy stuff that would be illegal under our Constitution.

I'm agnostic.  I don't need some book to tell me that killing, raping, and hurting other people is a bad thing.

Are you suggesting that people can't simply have common sense without an old book guiding them?

The rEVOLution is not being televised

no the thing that tells you that is wrong is not your common sense its the moral compass that has implanted on your soul when he made you

were does that few in washington get thier morality germany got thier morality from a elite few that decided that mass murder was ok and we almost had all of the jews killed what would stop a government from doing that to whoever they wanted germanys government wasnt to far from our own before the nazis took power

Or y'know the Spanish Inquisition, the Witch Hunts and the Crusades, all done in the name of Christ.

Now I'm not saying christianity is bad because of those things, I'm just saying that because of those things the influence of Christianity on government isn't always good.

Also at your previous post, I don't believe He exists so I don't believe he has implanted anything on my soul (because I don't believe it exists) so therefore I think its my common sense.

Christianity is all phony fairy-tales told to scare children.

Interesting - at the end, that was a voice over - he never said that stuff.

I agree with Obama - we aren't a Christian nation. Though I am a Christian and won't ever deny I am, I do not push my beliefs on anyone. I will give a person an answer on why I believe what I do, but to govern a nation requires figuring out what's best for the nation as a whole.

When I went into the voting booth, I didn't vote for a pastor - I voted for president.
