Final Fantasy XII will certainly be huge in Japan and StarCraft II will certainly be huge in South Korea. But which one do you think will post the most impressive numbers? I personally think this could be really fascinating. It's easily Japan versus South Korea as it's Blizzard's StarCraft II against Final Fantasy XIII.

I believe Blizzard will shortly inform us of the sales of StarCraft II and we will easily be informed of the sales of the monster that will be Final Fantasy XIII.

My predictions:

Final Fantasy XIII

Location Sales
Japan 1,690,900 (first week)

 

StarCraft II

Location Sales
South Korea 1,500,000 (first week)

I think that Final Fantasy XIII will win. What's your opinion? Will StarCraft II win? Or will it fail?

This is Japan Vs. South Korea!

I HIGHLY doubt that FFXIII is gonna sell 1.6 mil copies in the first week. I don't know much about SK's Starcraft addiction though.

SC2 should have better legs ( Japanese second hands market usually kill legs whereas battlenet ensures Blizzard games have good legs( the best in the world, actually far ahead of Nintendo, I don't know any 8 years old Nintendo title still being stocked by retailers).



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Yes those are first week numbers.

The hardcore Final Fantasy fanbase in Japan (more than 2 million) will buy the game, regardless of platform.
