Anything less will be a massive failure. I'm expecting in the ~1.8 million range for the first week.

For a console that will probably have ~4.5 million copies sold by the time the game comes out? I think even 1.2 million would be stunning. Its possible, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Final Fantasy has sold 1.8 million on the PS1 and PS2. A little different, dontcha think?

Final Fantasy VII did 2 million on 5 million consoles.

Final Fantasy X did 1.9 million on 5.1 million consoles.

Yes, I believe it will easily do 1.6 million.
