I remember something about Wii Speak and its channel being hard to get, not allowed to get, etc if you get Wii Speak as a used item.
Anyone know anything about this? Anyone bought one used?

"Any consumer who may have misplaced their Wii Download Ticket number for the Wii Speak Channel or require a new number following a Wii exchange may contact their local Nintendo Customer Services department, where they can request a replacement Wii Download Ticket number."
I saw that too, but it seems to literally be excluding buy used Wii Speaks, as it seems to talk about 'lost' or Wii replacements. Both cases where they could prove you were the original purchaser.
I'm still unsure from my searching, which included Nintendo forums, if you buy a used Wii Speak from ebay/gamestop/etc if the pin can be obtained.

Nah, it includes buying used. "[O]r require a new number following a Wii exchange" was specifically tossed in to include used owners.
or just don't use the channel and hope for future games with WiiSpeak support as the channel doesn't work with games or anything.

See, I'm pretty sure "Wii Exchange" refers to you getting your Wii exchanged for repairs similar to having to redownload your WiiWare and VC games. I am 99.9% sure it does not mean buying the accessory Wii Speak used.

Five VGChartz bucks says you're wrong!
Seriously, I'm fairly confident I'm right on this one. And I vote neither of us take up wfz on his suggestion, because that'd be boring. Agreed?
I believe that Nintendo decided that you could buy new tickets for like $5 a pop. Just call Nintendo customer service first, as there is no way around calling them anyways.

dammit. I don't want to call them. That is why we have the interwebz TO BE LAZY AND LET OTHERS DO MY WORK!!! :)
How about one of you call them and I'll give you $5VGC
