@ "The PS360 Gap" comments:

The PS3 is slowly closing the marketshare gap with the 360. I don't think anyone really cares about the actual numerical gap, or if you do... umm.. why?

If the number gap keeps growing bigger, it means it will never catch up

If the gap grows to 10 million, by the time the X360 hits 60 million, that'll mean the PS3, at 50 million, is much closer, in terms of marketshare, than it once was, despite the numerical gap growing.  If the PS3 ever actually starts outselling the 360, in a raw numbers way, it'll be a real statement, at this point in the generation.

Although, I suppose, a PS3 pricecut could very well drive such an event.  Heck the revenue spent on PS3s is remarkably larger than what is spent on 360s week-to-week as it is.

yep, the ps3 and wii dropped because they never had any price cuts since. the 360 was obviously gonna be higer because of the price cuts it had. how many were there two, three?

Mario Kart Wii release and PS3 still had momentum from GT5:P launch. That's why Wii/PS3 are down YoY.

average week

Japan would be interesting if the PS3 could top the Wii again but I really don't think so and I would like to see the NA sales since last week was so close

Basically one.  They had a tiny intermediate one to clear out old stock before the new models with bigger hard drives, but that's about it.  That was a single $100 cut after 2 years.  How many cuts has Sony had and how much did it cut off?  2?  3?  $200 you say?
