Forums - Gaming - Who actually believes that GT series IS more popular than Halo series.

You're quite persistent about this, aren't you OP?

In any case, it's hard to tell as of now, because GT5 hasn't been released. If I had to guess though, in the end, we'll see that GT is more popular overall, as it enjoys more popularity in Japan and PAL. Halo is more of an American phenomenon.

Oh please...Really...you think GT is going to do better than MGS 4?..I guess..I know i dont miss it on my 360...let alone any racing game...BurnOut killed the racing genre...seriosly...with out takedowns pretending to drive cars is boring

Look at the sales history of the franchises.

Then beat your head against a wall repeatedly until you learn how to use the internet.

I don't think they've taken so looooong to release it to dissapoint (ie.: GT4 with GT5:P graphics). I think all the time they're taking is being spent on tweaking the gameplay, online functionality, physics, car damage, etc. as well as new game modes.

It might be if PS3 was as popular as 360...

ok i'll do as you say as long you PS3 onwers start buying games

 You are a troll.

Go look at Street Fighter + Resident Evil 5, 2 big new games recently released for both 360 + PS3

@yo_john117 you may want to take a look at some japanese games sales in Japan.

Oh yeah i know but every region has times where the amount of games they sell is sick, but generally North America sells a great deal more than all other regions combined.

GT has always sold better than Metal Gear....

Burnout is an arcade racer, GT is a racing sim... they cater to 2 different audiences...

Since we're on the subject of GT5 Prologue, let me just point out that I think releasing something like that for people to buy is just downright terrible - I've never been a big fan of demos, and it's even worse when you release them, at retail no less, for what, $30?

Also, I honestly think that GT5 Prologue sold so well for two reasons: Partly, well, it's GT. There's no denying that it's a popular franchise. And partly, racing game drought. Does Sony have any traditional racer besides GT5 Prologue, and if so, did it have it at GT5 Prologue's release? And I don't count Motorstorm since that's a terrain racer, and pretty far from the same thing.

If you're going into this expecting GT5 to get sales close to GT4... Well, of course, I can't say for sure, since I can't see the future, but I'm 99,9% certain that you'll be sorely disappointed.

Are you referring to exclusives or otherwise?

Because there is Grid, Ferari Challenge, Formula 1,  and Ridge Racer 7...

Doesn't matter if they're exclusive, as long as a PS3 owner can pick them up. Though, considering I hadn't heard of any of those games besides Grid, I think that serves to support my point a bit. They sure don't sound like very big games.

I have heard of them all and own ridge racer. There are demos for F1 and grid. Why do you think because u havent heard of them ps3 owners havent either?

In America Halo is more popular

In the rest of the world Gran Turismo owns Halo.
