Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo Voice Podcats: Silent Hill and Fatal Frame

Well I'm going to update this as soon I'll listen the podcat.

The Nintendo team is now the iPod team too, so Matt, Craig and other members of the team are going to be at charge of the iPod section of IGN

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

* The game begins with a terepist sesion. Acording to your answers the background changes for example is you select Harry with alcohol problems, the first thing that Harry saw at the begining is not the diner it's a bar.

* Best use of flashlight, better than Fragile and Winter

* The PS2 and PSP versions of the game are dumbed down

* Not a bloody game, more focused on psychological horror

* Good use of particles on snowflakes.

* The presentation is great

* Solid frame rate and good use of filters

Fatal Frame

* Difficult to contact Nintendo

* Matt says that there's a huge difference about what Reggie says and Tecmo says.

* Fatal Frame needed some changes before bringing it to America.

* If they don't bring Fatal Frame to America it'll be a big loss, Captain Rainbow not a loss (Nobody loves you Captain Rainbow)

* They're going to give another shot with Nintendo about the game.

Dead Space: Extraction

* Visually Impressive

* The characters talk each other, the story seems pretty good.

* Use the stick to look around.

* Move creates and boxes to solve puzzles

* The camera bounces in certain situations to give more realism to the game.

Excitebots

* No SD cards for music.

* No Wii speak support, they don't think Nintendo is doing the right thing by ignoring the Wii speak.

* Really fun to play, they beat the normal mode in 3 1/2 hours, then they unlocked the SUPER EXCITE MODE

* Much better than Excite Trucks.

* The control are better.

* No normal racing option, the game is only based on crazy things and tricks.

* Quite hardcore at the end.

The Conduit

* Tomorrow at 6PM Sega'll be holding a event with The Conduit multiplayer option

* Expect some impressions tomorrow

Wii Sports Resort

* June for Japan and July for America, they don't know if Nintendo is going to release Wii Motion plus early.

* EA is supporting more the Wii motion plus than Nintendo.

* They support the idea of a EA Wii motion plus bundle.

Rabbids GO HOME

* No minigame collection

* Rayman is not in the game

* The team that did Peter Jackson's King Kong and the original Rabbids are at charge of this project.

* Ubi is working on this and after they finish the game they'll start working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 ....... don't expect that game this year.

+ They talked about the Wii situation on Japan.

+ Iwata says that the Wii situation is "unhealty" ..... and make fun of that.

NIGHT

* Cool puzzle game, you can control the ball with the wiimote moving it left or right.

* Can manipulate the gravity in certain situations.

* Quite fun and calm

* It's dark but it didn't gave problems at playing.

DSi

* They were at a cruise in Mexico and some random guy ASKED about the DSi

* People know about the DS in every pleace.

Mixed things.

Iwata is pumped the E3 quite good, but other representatives like Cammie and Reggie not. They're quite critical of this. "Just trow a bone" Nintendo

No baseball game for the Wii Motion Plu at the moment

thanks for the summary

what about FF?

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

keep it coming :)

So the team that already has by far the most to cover is being given extra responsibilities? Fair enough.

Bah, that sucks. Hope they got better in-game music this time around then. =P

sounds good

they should remove Daemon from the Nintendo team and leave him on the iPod team then :P

by the way, Matt apparently was really impressed with Silent Hill, and if he's really telling what he saw, I'd say that the game indeed is promising: http://wii.ign.com/articles/971/971316p1.html

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

So are they saying Nintendo has a reason to release it stateside, from a financial standpoint?

Certainly some changes needed to be made, between the game-breaking bugs and all.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What exactly is wrong with Fatal Frame 4? I've heard more then one person now mention is has some major problems, but haven't been following the game myself.
