Yup. I think too many high profile games have been released lately, nothing about these two games stands out at all.

Notice how those were all out within the first year of thier respective consoles launch, and how I said 'at this point'. Of the new IPs introduced last year only Left4Dead was a qualified hit (and LBP which had massive advertising and bundling). Dead Space, EndWar, H.A.W.X., the new PoP, and Mirror's Edge amongst others all underperformed or flat out flopped because people instead choose to spend their money on CoD5, GoW2, RE5 and SF4. Not that I blame them, people go for what they know they'll enjoy.
I figured that these two games would fail at retail. There was no hype and I do not believe that there was any advertising, I may be wrong on that part.

I'd buy both these games but I need to cut my spending. I have spent at least $500 dollars in games this year so far. We are not even six months in. I liked the demo of the Riddick game. Wheelman I skeptical about but would still purchase.
You would think wheelman would be selling quite well because of the box office success that is "fast and furious". I don't know though.
And I don't think the original riddick sold well at all, but it was a critical success.

riddick i didnt no about till i played the demo and discovered vin diesel's voice acting is awful
I'm not surprised at all. The XBL demo of Riddick was boring, in my opinion. Wheelman was mildly entertaining... enough that it reminded me I wanted to go break out GTA4 again and get closer to 100%. Otherwise it was kinda uninspiring though.
Come on, the combined budget of those games doesn`t even come close to MadWorld. Leave the HD consoles alone.
Let`s talk about how Zack & Wiki, No More Heroes, Boom Blox all failed to break the (very realistic) 1M barrier.

Why would we talk about random new IP mini-successes on the Wii in this thread? You could go start a thread about how little games like NMH and Braid did really well... in a different thread. I think this one is about big licensed IP titles flopping on the HD consoles though.
