If you take out all the remakes of the same game in the X360, you are left with like 10 different games. No wonder HD gamers are always asking for new IP's.

Weird. I haven't seen any HD gamer complaining about third party games. Wii games on the other hand.. oh well.

Thats because all HD gamers like to play the same game, apparently again and again and again and again. Wii gamers like new experiences, and therefore complain when third parties develop the same game again and again and again and again.

New IPs are rare breed this generation... even the new IPs such as Bioshock are just carbon ripoff. Given I like sequels and carbon ripoffs, but still I do want new ips.

I honestly have to congratulate Nintendo for making the wii... as it actually seems to satisfy me new IP wise. I also have to thank Sony a little... just a small bit.

So that is why the top selling games on wii are... mario 10, mario kart 5, smash bros 5, mario party 8,zelda 7 and random minigame compilation X. I see.

It is interesting that it also reflects the 50:30:20 ratio for Nintendo:Microsoft:Sony, just like the hardware sales....

That would have been a very good point if any of the previous iterations had been made available for the Wii.

Look at the X360 list. The Xbox has been out for slightly over three years, and yet it already has (as million sellers):

4 Tom Clancy titles,

3 Need for Speeds titles

4 Call of Duty's titles

3 Guitar Hero Titles

3 Madden Titles

These 5 games represent almost half of all the million sellers on the X360. I'll let everyone draw their own conclusions.

Yeah. Those series are established IPs on the system. It's like you're trying to find a problem where there isn't one. The only reason the Wii doesn't have a similar situation is because it is a year younger than the 360 and has had less sequels. Guitar Hero: World Tour is going to be a million seller just like Guitar Hero III, same with Game Party and Game Party 2, and Carnival Games and Carnival Games: Mini-Golf.

Stop trying to paint the Wii audience as superior.

People are forgetting that the xbox360 is out for a longer time. So, it's not that impressive from the xbox360. All that really matters is total software sold because attach ratios decline when you sell more consoles. Wii has the most software sold, then xbox360 and then ps3.

Fair enough. Let's do the same for wii:

Random minigame collections: 6

Rayman minigame collections: 3

CoD: 2

PGA: 2

RE: 2

Lego games: 2

GH: 2

That is more than half of the wii million sellers!

Sorry MontanaHatchet, but i am a bit offended by your remark. I never stated that the Wii audience was superior, I simply made an observation that many of the top million sellers on the X360 are yearly updates of the same game, a point that can refute. I also stated that this is of lesser extent on the Wii, which again, is true. I simply stated the facts, and offered no opinion as to the superiority of one gamer or console over another.

I would also like to mention that just about every gaming site is filled with 90% non Wii users who constantly complain that the Wii has no good games, that third parties don't sell on the Wii, that the Wii is a fad, that the Wii is last gen, that the Wimote is a gimmick, that Nintendo destroyed the video game market, etc. etc. etc. Mostly, i see Nintendo fans argue for the same level of respect as the other consoles, not for more respect.  NB. On this site i see it to a lesser extent, probably because there is a more equal distribution of console owners.

But lets be honest MontanaHatchet. If you comment anytime someone shows a bias toward a system, i am surprised that the forum is not filled with comments by you telling X360 owners and PS3 owners (along with Wii owners) to stop acting superior. My arguments offer at least some level of foundation, unlike most other user comments.
