I lost interest on that franchise since......tekken 3
I don't want Tekken on the Wii.
Well if given the option I wouldn't tell them not to put it there... but the last tekken game i found fun at all was Tekken Tag... and even then it wasn't great.
2D fighters are where it's at.

I would actually say that SC is also more casual than Tekken... In any case, I can't see the control scheme working too well. That would be my main concern (some people will surely cite graphics, but eh, it's a fighting game. I don't think graphics are that important). I have a Wii and I don't have a PS3 or a 360, but Tekken 6 happens to be one of the games that will make me buy an HD console when it's released.

The control scheme might be fine. A 4 button fighter isn't impossible for the nunchuck+wiimote. Just use nunchuck buttons for punches, and wiimote for kicks or vice-versa. It may or may not work very well, but it would be a playable control scheme. Or at least some derivative of that.

The idea sounds both crazy and interesting at the same time without a classic controller... it's too many movements to map out with motion sensing if you ask me... I guess you really would need the classic controller for tekken.

Why would you need motion sensing? Tekken is a 4 button fighter. the Wiimote and Nunchuk give you easy access to 4 buttons and an Analog stick for movement. The game only has 2 punches, and 2 kicks. Everything else comes from a combination of those and/or movement.
Namco should port Tekken: Dark Resurrection to Wii. That game sold 2m on PSP, so any potential Wii sales would be pure profit for the company.

I think wierd part is the size and location of the buttons. I was talking about motion sensing implementation because that's what I first thing about when I think about a Wii game... I just think that anything other than the classic or perhaps the GC controller would be wierd for tekken on Wii.

I could totally see Soul Calibur working for the Wii... The controlls are vertical weapon, horizontal weapon, kick/punch, and guard?? I could see vert and horizontal weapon mapped out to motion sensing controls, kick/punch as A, and guard as B.

Motion sensing is entirely optional though. Why add it if it won't help gameplay? If it must be used, then use it for specific combinations of buttons as is done with the shoulder buttons on your typical controller. I think it is hysterical that you would use a GC controller as an example of a good for any fighting game outside the Smash series. It is possibly the worst design ever for a fighting game.
