BTF - what does that have to do with this discussion? This was about Resident Evil 5 on the 360 outselling the PS3. Not the hardware. If you want to discuss about hardware, do that on another thread.

Actually time is the Ps3's enemy with these sales. the longer these sales gon the smaller the potential for sales will be on the PS3 due to the smaller userbase while the xbox360 won't experience this problem just as fast.

I'd say that it's a pretty safe bet to say that these two versions will sell about the same amount (difference in thousands, maybe 15 thousand units) by the end of the year.

 Actually, if you look at the title it was about RE5 on PS3 outselling the 360 version.  The op seemed pleased by that, so I thought he would be pleased by being reminded about the great week the PSP and PS3 had last week too.

i think 360 version will dge to 2million quicker than ps3 version.........either way its a great game and a good move by capcom to release both same day.

Actually I'm not sure time will favor the 360.

 

GTA4 did a lot better on the 360 than on the PS3 the first few weeks and since then it's been pretty even ( for a long time it had better legs on the PS3, since the holydays the 360 sells 1-2k more /week).

 

The gap was 1.6 millions in favor for the XBox360 after 10 weeks, it's now only 1.4 millions units ( the game was released in Japan in btw where it sold 150k more for the PS3 so the PS3 closed the gap by 50k in 30 weeks on a game that sold considerably more on the 360 in NA).



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

welll the ps3 games generally start to pick up legs as the word of mouth start working

yeah thats wat i was saying in my OP also i think that in the Fall the PS3 will start selling more HW than the 360 in terms giving better legs to the ps3 version much like wen the 360 got its price cut last fall GTA started selling more on ut

@BTFeather55 thanks for mentioning that the ps3 is selling better HW wise, the PS3 coming with in 6k last week has alot to do with RE5 sales, the more 360 HW goes down the more 360 RE5 will go down wit it so ur post makes sense to me although it didnt make sense to others
