Too bad Battle Mode sucks.

In its first 52 weeks from its initial launch, it's the best selling game ever.

It may very well be the second highest grossing game ever, but it's more likely to be 3rd or 4th. I estimate the list is now

1. Wii Fit > 1.5B

2. Pokemon Blue/Red = 750M-1B

3. MKWii (?) = ~ 750M (?)

Then there's a few handheld games at ~ 20-25 million sold, which would translate into a 500-750M

It's gonna get to second soon anyway.

It will soon be in the top 3 best selling games ever in Others, bundled or not.

It's the best selling racer game ever.

my favorite game this generation, I love battle mode!!!!! can't blieve it's only been out for a year and it's already the best selling racing game imagine where would it be by the end of the generation...maybe 25 millions??

you might want to point out that within that year it sold 15.54 m to become the fastest selling game ever!

A year and i still havent bought it, probably because all my friends have it and i play with them at their houses (and i keep buying different games) i should buy it soon.

 Well, I have had this theory for end of the year.

First 6 months = 150K/week = 3900K

Next 3 months = 125K/week = 1625K

Holiday quarter = 3500K

Total = 9M

Lifetime = 23M

Then it should sell 7M more. This game will make 30M

... My prediction might fail a bit though. The current average is 147K/week (so it should dip to 140K/week on average by the end of first 6 months, and might just sell 8M for the year).

i agree but i think wii sports comes before that (anger, frustration, happiness, sadness (when you lose), etc). same with mario galaxy!

I thought DD was funner, but that's just me........
