Well.. how bout this?

Can you make it so that ONLY thumbs up can be added. That way there really is no way for people to mess with you if they really have it out for you? So people with good reviews will get praised and people with bad reviews get nothing. Something like a +1 point system.

People who post troll reviews can get reported and the mods can decide what to do with the review.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I think that there are a lot of users you can trust, however, I also think that there's no use of having an anonymous user saying your review is bad without justifying it. I mean, alright, my Tetris review might be actually bad, but if someone just say it isn't worth of being added to the average without any motive, I stand without knowing if it's actually an opinion or someone playing with the system.

You didn't answer the key question I asked, I can't answer it myself because staff members can't write user reviews - can you currently edit the written content of your reviews?

If the answer is no then I take my suggestion back, it was made under the assumption that you could.

You can edit content and scores.

My suggestion is to not have a percentage rating but instead have it like Amazon user reviews - you vote whether you found it useful. Then the statistic is just those who voted yes or no and in the end, you show the number of people who did e.g. 4 out of 7 users found this review useful. This means 4 voted yes and 3 voted no.

I dont think its necessary to have a user percentage rating as well as the individual reviews should be the key, not the reviewer.

I agree with being able to change your vote if the review changes.

Edit: I also agree with having the number of views/votes/comments shown on your profile so you can quickly see the community reaction to your reviews.

This is a great feature, Talon, and you're amazingly fast. There are a few things I'd like to suggest:

-Could you show the User and Review rating while in a review? That makes life a lot easier.

-I agree with whoever said that you should be forced to give a comment when rating a review.

-Could you show the average user score on the game search page (along with the sales, hits, VGC score, etc.)

-It would be nice if writing a review gave you VG$. However, you should place a minimum word limit, to prevent people doing it just to get huge amounts of VG$. Maybe $100 and 300 words?

That's all I can think of for now. Thanks for working so hard on this, and I'll post again if I think of anything else.

EDIT: Lol, I posted the same review twice. Ah well, I was just venting, anyway.

I agree with pbroy (I think it was him) in that email notifications for comments to our reviews would be very nice, and/or a list of reviews on the sidebar, and a review goes red when there is a new comment, or like the wall posts, "You have 2 new review comments". Some kind of notification, so we don't have to keep checking back.
