Deca sports 2 wow... I can't remember that a game only sold 3% of his shipment first day... I even think I never saw a game going under 10% or I must have forgot it.

When was the last time a Wii title debuted with good numbers? Deca Sporta 1 sold far better on it's first week.
Right now, launching a game on the Wii in Japan is poison. Unless Monster Hunter launches with >200,000 first week, it'll continue to be a poor choice to develop for.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
I have a lower expectation of Wii situation in Japan than "source" but this "[WII] Deca Sports 2 (Hudson) - 2,500 (3%)" is even worse... I m not sure, but it s probably the biggest bomb this year in Japan.
sorry for my english
Why don't you people listen to me lol!??
2,500! Out of 80,000. I thought it was gonna do at least 20k first week, but this is just abominable. Now you really believe Wii sales will go up this week? I think they will keep going down. Sub 10k doesn't sound so bad now, right? In between MHG and WSR Wii will see it's worst weeks ever...
As I said before, Wii Sports craze is over there. Deca Sports 1 was lucky to sell like it did because Wii Sports was going on strong and Wii Fit was driving casual games up. Now that I think about it, Wii audience consists mainly in Wii Fit and Wii Sports buyers, along withNintendo owners and a very small, you could say niche, hardcore base. Now that the Wii Fit and Wii Sports craze are over there in Japan, even casual games will sell really bad. Casual Japanese gamers look like they are satisfied with 1 - 2 casual games. The core base buys core games, but seeing as they are too niche and spaced between them, and that the core base is too small, they sell bad as well.
Like Mr. Stickball said, releasing a Wii game in Japan is poison right now. Who would want to develop for the Wii after all these terrible performances. I can't wait for the following weeks. I was called a crazy man with my predictions, but they are turning out alright.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
I thought you were pro-Wii sales, trestres? Are you being sarcastic?
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
No... I'm not pro-sales. I'm pro reality. This is what's going on now and I'm always being called out. For once you may be in agreement with me.

I'm suspicious about Deca Sports 2. The first one did 30,000 units day one and 65k week one.
It is possible this game could have really good legs and do 10k,15k, 20k week one...but thats still way down from the previous version. Given the larger base of the Wii for this kind of software (Wii itself, as well as Wii Fit, Wii Play, Mario & Sonic, Wii Sports, Wii Music all have higher totals now than they did for Deca Sports) I'm inclined to believe that a) one out of two people buying a new Wii buys a game like this which means b) when Wii sales were higher and these types of games were newer they sold much better but the interesting thing is they shipped 80,000 units - which means they expected it to be a big game too, as I had.
But, they probably didn't expect the game to launch against the Final Fantasy XIII demo either...or right before a Monster Hunter III demo. With the economy down and software generally terrible in Japan now I wonder if people are saving up for only their most wanted games (FFXIII and MH3).

Deca Sports is aimed at a completely different demographic than FF and MH, I really don't see those upcoming releases affecting sales of a party game.

we will find out soon, next week the PS 3 (thanks to FF XIII - demo) has a chance to outsell Wii YTD first time in history
2009 Total:
PS 3: 385 173
Wii: 418 612
Wow, poor Wii third party.
Everything is kinda low though, except ACC of course.
