Thanks god. That means no remake.

Because Square-Enix has too much integrity not to milk FFVII for cash. No way will they do spin offs, related media, or god forsake a remake!

Updated OP with description.

Does international version have English? I'm guessing not.

No, a remake is coming. FF 1-4 have been remade, it is just a matter of time before VII is remade. The only question is, whether it will come to a platform like PSP (if SE take it to DS I will kill them) or whether it gets a full remake and comes to PS3

I have no doubt that FFVII will eventually be remade. But the PSX version on PSN means that it isnt going to happen in the near future.

Is this for real.

The big thing is it has released, if it does well enough (it will) the others will also come onto the PSN for sure.

Those old FFs are 2D games. Remaking a 3D game ought to take much more work and money. Not to say they're not going to remake it, it's still very possible. It's just that it's a lot bigger in every sense.

Oh, and back on topic. Do those games work on other regions' consoles as well? I know retail copies of PS1 games still have region codes but do Store games, and if they do, do they work?

Yes they do. You can go to any store on any console and buy whatever PS1 game you want, and it will work.

About switching discs: The original PlayStation version of this title is compiled of several CD_ROMs and requires the switching of discs during gameplay. If a message asking you to switch discs is displayed, do not switch off the system. press the PS/HOME button and then select "Switch Discs" from the screen that is displayed. Then select the disc you are asked to switch.

was it preplanned.? or this release is a surprise. ??

and more importantly can this cause an increase in the PS3 hardware sales.? Just wandering..

...what's the international version? What does it do/have different?

I mean I've got FF7 already and it works fine. No point on spending money on it. I need to play FF4 and 5 first.

Hmm, pie.
