Forums - Nintendo - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories - TONS of details (Wii the LEAD PLATFORM!)

I don't have time at the moment to read the whole IGN interview but at first I thought the screenshots were just artwork. I love the style and it's looking great (for Wii granted)! I love using the Wiimote as a flashlight, it adds so much immersion. Works great in Tomb Raider - but it's only a novelty there.

I really want this to be great, with Alone in the Dark a complete cluster f--- and FF4 apparently not coming to NA (grrrr) I'm really hoping for this game to make up for them now.

This game has awesome graphics just by this:

So much patriotism in one picture, sure fire win in America.

If only talking cleavage wasn't blocking off the Neon America behind her.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

IGN: Finally, Wii fans have been burned before. Why should they be excited about this new Silent Hill?

Tomm Hulett: When the Wii was announced, we all heard about the great new things it could do for the core gamer. We were told it wouldn't be all music sims and exercise tutorials -- there were real games on the way too. It took a few years, but Silent Hill is here. This is the game you've been waiting years for. It's mature, it's tense, and it has everything you're looking for in a "real" survival horror game, because it is one. Oh, and it's not a rail shooter.

OH!  MASSIVE BURN to Capcom and EA right there XD

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Old Harry looks alot better, the one on the left look more like a movie character than a badass character (the one on the right)

At first I didn't like their concept art for Harry, but now I think I understand what they're doing.  They're trying to make Harry into a complete non-badass.  The lame glasses, the dopey expression on his face - it's all trying to create a true everyman.   Not a roided up supersoldier, not an everyman-turned-badass (Iassac Clark, Gordon Freeman), but someone who is truely at the mercy of his environment.  Given the non-combat approach to the game, I think it's a defensible move.

*orgasm*

Well it is looking good. I'm glad to see the series go back to its roots. One concern I do have is the lack of combat, though I think that has been reduced a bit now that Fatal Frame isn't coming. Good to see what looks like a quality effort. I wasn't a big Origins fan, but I think they will do better this time.
