Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem is a difficult series, I don't know if you guys have heard

On chapters 8, 12, 14, 16, 20 and 21, there are gaiden chapters. If you don't get ALL of them, you won't get the real ending. Check the requirements for getting them before playing the respective chapters.

Hey!  Don't spoil it.  It's easier to get him to replay it if we can point out he missed stuff later.

All right, I'll keep that in mind.

Man I still haven't gotten all the Gaiden chapters in FE7, and therefore haven't gotten the complete ending there, either. I guess I'll do it when I do my Hector Hard Mode run.

... Curses

My game has bugged. No matter what I do, I go to 17a. As I never recruited Shin, I can't get to 20x by route A. My combined Thany + Tate experienced gained > Sue's (1 level of Tate, and Thany is 3 levels higher than Sue), but I still end up going a.

That's annoying.

So I decided to give Lilina a fair shot and leveled her in 8x.  This was the result:

Lilina:

Lugh:

It helps that Lilina got at least 3 levels with 6 +1's.

My Lilina is a level 12 sage and has less def than yours.

I prefer Lillina over Lugh really. Generally, there's a group of 5 enemies (or so) in this game. Lillina will always take out the strongest one. She isn't very good for soloing though, but I have a few other pairs for that.

Current magic users in my team (at start of 18)

Sophia - Lv 1 Druid

Ray - Lv 2 Druid

Hugh - Lv 3 Sage

Lugh - Lv 5 Sage

Clarine - Lv 8 Valkyrie

Ellen - Lv 11 Bishop

Lillina - Lv 12 sage

Then I have the Paladin pair, Roy, Dieck, Miledy, Thany, Fir, Wendy and Sue as my non-magic users. They're all (save for Roy) in the Lv 1-6 range.

It's a good thing that 7 out of my 15 units can normally heal though :D

I'm always using Iron (and sometimes Steel) weapons, so generally I end up having almost all my good weapons left for the last ~ 5 chapters, making them a breeze. Not sure if that's a good idea.

I like Lilina because she has a support with Roy which is very convenient... and she turned out way better than Lugh.

So why Wendy? She comes in chapter 8 but at level 1. Most of my characters are 14~8ish now so why level her up from 1 to catch up?

I dunno. She got some uber stats to start with ( she went up in all levels 3 times in a row), and was pretty decent all along. Then, there's the problem that I lack tanks. I needed to block 3 ways in a chapter, and I didn't have a lot that could safely def it, so I picked Wendy. She rocketted, and is now pretty a lv 2 general.

I don't use her a lot really, but when I need a tank, I add her.

I'm at chapter 21 now (I managed to get onto the correct route!), so I prolly won't use her anymore.

Fair enough. I really want to use Knights because General units are so cool-looking but I just can't get over their awful movement. By the time they get to a fight, my faster units have already killed everyone and are moving on.

Same thing here.

I generally like mages/myrmidons, as their characters are more my kind of people (macho men with mustaches get kicked off the team ASAP).

I just warped Lillina, Lugh and Miledy past all the enemies in Chapter 21 (just 2 staff uses, thanks to rescue and warp both).

Now my Lillina is going to bolt Murdock to death from a distance.

Crud... Bolting critted Roy to death.

Myrmidons are weird. There are some Fire Emblem games where they just feel overpowered especially after promotion. However there are others where they just feel flimsy and ineffective half the time due to armor and whatnot.

Mages usually come in two flavors as well. The Soren/Canas/Nino flavor where they end up with godly stats and cap nearly everything and the kind where a strong breeze can kill them. Overall, I like mages when I don't have to babysit them.
