Forums - Nintendo - Fire Emblem is a difficult series, I don't know if you guys have heard

I'd heard he was hard to train. There's a HHM guide that recommends not using him.

That idea terrifies me. I can't imagine facing some of the Black Fang without Luna.

Just use who you want.  As long as it isn't a pre-promote, you'll be fine.

Average stats aren't the end-all-be-all either too.  In this last playthrough, Rebecca beat the rest of the archers.  She had 8 points more resistance than Wil.  Farina also had freakish luck growth and turned into my best Pegasus Knight.

A few things about FE6 (still just early in). I'm shocked to find I had forgotten everything about this game.

Roy is TERRIBLE. He's essentially like Lance and Alan (the classic start Cavaliers), except that he has half the def.

I guess he gets better, but having to babysit a Lord feels odd.

Lugh rocks. He's like a Myrmidon that uses magic.

The characters aren't nearly as loveable as in the other FEs.

Roy doesn't get better.

I like the FE6 characters myself.  Thanny, Miledy, and Echidna are all great.  And there's always Gonzales.

He doesn't get better? Darn. This game really is hard on hard mode.

It may be that I haven't actually met a lot of characters yet.

Lance and Alan are the stereotypic knights you start out with.

Thanny is just another Pegasus Knight

And 2 Mercenary troops that have joined.

Essentially, they really lack a story around them so far.

Start working on your supports.  That's where you'll find the stuff that interests you.

I am (of course). But even the supports are far less interesting.

It just got a lot better though, at Chapter 8 Gaiden. The amount of story just doubled (at least), so I guess I was too early in my comment.

That means you're pairing the wrong characters.

It's really turning around. Supports are awesome (again). It started of a bit duller than your usual Fire Emblem, but it's up to the top-notch quality again now. It even has some humour.

Fir is awesome.

Just finished Radiant Dawn!! Didn't lose a character the whole game

*dances*

People, shout at me what game I should get next
I don't speak Japanese and I don't own a DS. So that kinda limits me to Path of Radiance actually

Get FE7 or FE9 next. FE11 is the worst from this millenia.

FE7 and FE9 are both awesome. Then FE8 is pretty great, but not as good as FE7.

FE10 is the best one.

FE6 is, frankly, far inferior to the rest of the titles.

Edit: Other than FE11. FE11 is the worst.

hmm, I just had a look at it seems the only Radiant dawn, path of radiance and the GBA advanced ones are in English. So there's no way I can legally get any besides PoR without buying a DS or a GBA.

How sad for me, I was hoping for some Virtual Console purchasing fun.

FE6 is good.  Its only major downfall is that it throws a lot of characters at you early on and doesn't really do a good job of defining them as characters.  At least, not as much as FE7 and FE8 do.

I decided to replay FE6 instead of FE8.  I'm at the beginning of chapter 8 and my Roy is a beast.

I looked up the average stats and he has like 9 points over the average total.  His defense and resistance are insane so he's one heck of a boss killer.

Last time I played FE6, my Roy was garbage for most of the game.  Looks like this time it's a whole different ballgame.
