SMB3

Though the cape in World is very cool. On the other hand, you can skip most levels with it if you use it right.

In several aspects, SMW is SMB3 in 16-bits.

Sooo hard to choose but I think I'll go with Super Mario World because you can replay the levels. Finding alternate paths is really fun. In general, the levels are easier in World but the special world is harder than anything in SMB3 (which is a good thing).

Wow what a tough question, I'd probably have to give it to SMB3 by a narrow margin, because it was such a jump from 1 and 2.

super mario world without a doubt. i stands with pokemon blue as my favorite game of all time. super mario bros 3 is good and a classic but i have always had a lot more fun with smw than smb3. the reason? yoshi.
