Yeah, that was hyperbole, I apologize.

Yeah, people were complaining only about the last quarter releases, though i didn't have any complaints. 2008 as a whole was pretty great considering the 1st party releases. Brawl or MKWii switching place with Animal Crossing or Wario Land and everybody had been happy again.
I don't think the Q4 was left for 3rd parties to fill, more propably a 1st party game got delayed because of WM+.
Brawl release was targeted to a time where there wasn't any big release on any system and MKWii was to counter GTA4.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
What's the point of releasing games when your console is sold out. I bet Nintendo has about 5 AAA games already complete and ready to ship. But with supply barely overtaking demand if at all, there is no point in releasing games to generate demand for your system. Especially when you don't need the money.

Wii fit sold over 15 million, and sony's biggest and most montrous first party game was Little Big Planet selling 2million with excessive bundles. hmmm, a $90 game than sells 15 million, or a free game that sells 2 million. |
Are you doing this on purpose or something ? Sales have nothing to do with quality. Sony arguably had the best line up last year. Also, LittleBigPlanet was only lightly bundled in Europe, nice try anyway.
As for the Wii's line up in 2008, I just think Nintendo relied a lot on third party (with all the success of the Wii) to release some great games (multiplatform or exclusive) but it just didn't happen. Even with the mediocre 2008 line up, Nintendo still managed to make billions of profit and sell millions of first party games so I don't see why they would complain.
edit: woops, I meant to quote tacoboy. will edit again.
And what can we say about 2009? It's far worse so far. 2 new games Punch Out and Excite Bots for the first half, thats 2 times less than last year which had SSBB, MKWii, Wii Fit and Endless Ocean.
Second half this year so far consists of Wii Sports Resort. 2009 is the real flop, 2008 was good in the first half, terrible in the second.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
Just to add my two cents
I think Nintendo, knowing 3rd parties would be wary of the Wii initially, wanted to pump up their user base as quickly as possible to simulate 3rd party titles coming to Wii. However, they may have shot off thier load a little too early, or perhaps 3rd parties dragged their feet longer than expect or Wii Music was simply not the monster hit Nintendo expected and AC was just too close to AC DS for anyone to care about it.

I suppose i won't be the first one to tell you, but why can't you think of WM+ as the only reason why second half of 2008 and first half of 2009 have seen so few 1st party titles released?
The console was sold-out, they didn't need to rush anything, and now they had all their time to do the extra-polish on all their future Wii titles...
Do you really think a company like Nintendo, in the top 5 of all japanese companies, pay its workers to do nothing at all for more than a year? Do you think such a company, who made billions and billions of profits in the last four years, hasn't the budget required to release many, many AAA titles in a near future?
What do you prefer: nice games released too fast, without WM+ controls, or great games released when they're ready, makin' the WM+ the new "king in town" thanks to awesome software makin' it a real "must-have"?
Wait til' E3, and prepare to be surprised... and i hope that after it, i will never, ever read again the constant rant you've been posting here for months and months... i think you're a nice guy, but you can be... yeah, quite boring...
