I think the Wii will probably dip bellow 10k but only for a few weeks in September, it's the nature of the beast in Japan that September sales are usually terrible and 1/3rd of sales of months like February or March ( PS3 could be as low as 6-7k in September).

What we don't know yet is how good or poorly the Wii will fare during the holydays as we have no clue what titles Nintendo will release.

Wii will be fine of that there is no doubt, Wii Sports Resort will give the console a permanent boost as will the TO game, the FF game, MH games etc. DQ X won't do diddily squat though since it is such a while away.

If the console will go back to where it was before remains to be seen, it was a monster until not long ago so the drop was pretty dramatic. PS3 has nothing coming for it besides a few ports and also a multi-plat game. That is about it until FFXIII but more titles are bound to be announced in that time for all 3 consoles. What I am hopeful of is that the PS3 price drop whenever it comes allows hardware sales to not dip below 10k a week at any point of the year. 360 is just fucked in Japan.......end of.

Those are the PS3 titles which matter in Japan and goodness knows when those will finally release. Now stop being so silly, everyone knows in no time the Wii will be outselling the PS3 again in Japan and by quite a margin. Sadly it is just PS3 vs Wii in Japan so most of the big games are going to Wii which I personally am not fond of.

@RPG: Why are you so sure about that?? I'm betting that the FFXIII Demo bundle will be quite big.

It will cause a spike which barely pushes the PS3 over the Wii for a WEEK and nothing more. FFXIII and Versus will indeed cause huge spikes with FFXIII causing the biggest but that will again ware off in a few weeks. NI-OH, GT5, EOT, Bayonetta, Tekken 6 will cause minor spikes with the rest doing little to none.

We all know this is just one of those freak moments which means nothing, remember some huge games release for the PS3 last couple weeks. My only hope is for a price cut which allows for the PS3 to stay above 10k at all times but nothing more, Wii will shine once again.

GT5 is big in japan also not a small a spike neither Tekken 6
and sony should be able to price cut.

I don't count year old ports as being big, Tekkan 6 is in arcades anyway and GT5 is not big in Japan anymore. Price cut should hopefully happen though which should give the console a boost in sales.
