I'm wondering, did Nintendo or Tecmo every release any kind of statement on How and why Nintendo acquired the rights to Fatal Frame IV?

Because I know we had a bunch of rumors, and then Nintendo was the publisher in Japan, but I can't recall and official word on it. Maybe there's some sort of rights dispute that only materialized after the Japanese release.

Greek bastards.

I have the feeling that one week of Wii Fit sales will cover the cost of localization in NA and Europe.

The greek have always been a most unreliable country when it came to news so i wouldn't trust them just yet.

And no, i will not believe greeks even if this turns out true.

Why would NOA publish a survival horror game? That's insane and has nothing to do with Nintendo's wildly successful strategy in North America. In fact it works against it.

If Tecmo wants to publish FFIV, they can acquire the rights from NOA, just as they acquired the rights from NOE (they're already advertising it in Europe). In all likelyhood, they're waiting to see if sales of that version will make a US release profitable.

They did test and found that the game is waaay too scary for westerners. What with all of the red-meat and fat we eat, they thought that the fear caused by the game would lead to heart attacks. Especially now that the Grands are playing Wii now.
