I cant buy the game its nearly impossible to find.

Like I said, the game will be remade eventually but I don't know why any Sony fan would want it before FFXIII. That just doesn't make sense as FFXIII is going to be the bigger game as it's a new game.

I don't want a FFVII remake to hinder the progress of XIII but I definitely do want the game remade and I am positive that it will be made.

Why won't this rumor die already? If S-E doesn't say it, then it's not happening. It's that simple.

FF7 wasn't that good in the first place, anyway. It has the same exact gameplay as FF4, a game made on hardware years older than the PSX - meaning it's boring as all heck. You press the X button on a menu to attack, you sometimes use healing spells, and you gain levels. Oh, and there's customization - except you have a driving incentive to make all of your characters the same, since there's a handful of excellent materia and a huge pool of mediocre-to-poor ones. Wow. Exciting.

Most people just love it because of childhood nostalgia. There's been many innovations, both graphically and gameplay-wise, in RPGs since FF7 was released. Nowadays, it's nothing more than an interesting look at where the genre was 10 years ago - and how much it has progressed since then.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

You've got to be kidding? Where did you look, a grocery store?

For starters, EBay. Hell, even Amazon sells it, although the price is severly inflated. However, go to any store that sells used games and your likely to find it. Gamestop is out of the equation now, but Gamecrazy should have it.

Seriously, its pretty easy to find

Regardless of the truthiness of this rumor, I honestly don't trust SquareEnix to remake this game right now. Their recent suckage has been way too massive.

Not to mention that FF7 has aged horribly

I disagree. The game was never really that good to begin with. The age of the game has allowed the hype to fade and the game to be judged on its own merits.

Well, I didn't actually say the game was great in the first place

I think a lot of the reason why FF7 is regarded so highly is because it was many peoples first experience with an RPG, not to mention it had pretty cutscenes and the death of the main character.

Other than that, its combat system was horrible. And any RPG where you can make each character identicle in stats has some fundamental problems. Oh, and every man looks like a chick plus tifa is such obvious fan service that its disgusting.

@Leo, just shut up about how great FF7 is until you actually play the game. The only reason you think its so cool is because of Kindom Hearts, but I assure you that KH is better than FF7. Seriously, you can get it for around $10 without that much trouble, and it will give you a reason to actually use your PS3.

Ive played the game, and the combat system was fantastic, i still see it better then any ff to follow it. It was a first time camera movement, limit breaks were fantastic, and summons were awsome to watch.

The battle system was fantastic, and this is someone whos played through it 4 times

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

What you described are the combat animations. The combat system is your standard "press Attack menu button, kill stuff, gain exp" crap. I can name at least a dozen jRPGs that did combat better than FF7 in just the PSX generation.

See, this is what I'm talking about - namely people whose first experience with FF was 7.

The limit break was a development of what was present in FF6 but its name escapes me now. But come on now, "summons were awesome to watch" is why the battle system was good? You mean a drawn out mini-cutscene made tha crappy materia system better? Same thing for the camera - how the hell does that make the gameplay better? I mean, this stuff may distract you from the real problems, but it doesn't make it a good battle system.

the camera zoomed in and out, it was a first for technology

Yes limits were present in f6, but not like they were in ff 7, and it changed the way limites were used from then on out. Limits were awsome to watch, and that does make the combat system better, the materia leveling was fantastic, and great way to make money.]

The combat system itself was great, the active bar or whatever it was called was great, and while you state that the combat system is like pressing attack etc, it looked fantastic, which in my mind made it great.

Just like shooters, it might have basic gameplay, but if it looks great (killzone 2 hype) then people will enjoy it

BTW my first FF was 9, then 8, then 7, and 7 was my favorite. I think i even played 10 before i went to 7, cant remember, but you cant tell me its just cause its my first.

Wasn't that present in FFVI and Chrono Trigger? *goes to check*

Yeah, it was!
