Bingo?

i have an american dsi and my sister has a japanese dsi.

all are games aside from the ones downloadable are playable on each others dsi's

if you want video to prove it i can upload some.

There are three types of carts that are going to be released: DS Carts (Out Now, regular), DSi Enhanced Carts, and DSi Carts

DSCarts - Will be playable on ALL 3 DS Systems. (DS,DSLite,DSi)

DSi Enhanced Carts will be playable on ALL 3 DS systems but the games that use these carts will have some functionlaity exclusive to DSi. (If it uses the camera,downloads, etc)

DSi Carts will ONLY BE PLAYABLE on DSi.

THERE IS NO REGION LOCK ON DS GAMES. ALL RETAIL DS GAMES CAN BE PLAYED ON ANY SYSTEM FROM ANY REGION

DSiWare games ARE REGION LOCKED! YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD AND PLAY DSiWARE GAMES FROM YOUR REGION.

This is the operative assumption most of us operate under, we are well aware. Anecdotal evidence to the contrary, though, merits investigation.

Nope. Most DS games will work on DSi, but some games actually cause freezes, glitches, etc. This is to be expected as the DSi has different hardware than the DS/DS Lite for running the games. All DSi Enhanced games SHOULD play on both DS and DSi. DSi carts, of course, will only play on DSi, but where are the launch titles for this new platform?

Actually Durring GDC Nintendo announced that the DSi would have enhanced ds games and exclusive games only playable on the dsi

What do you mean by "should, but of course will only play on DSi?

DSi is not a new platform. Its a DS still.

Off Topic: Also stupid when people say is DSi gonna be tracked seperate or is it a different system.

Lies! That is just not true. I have a US copy of Pokemon Pearl and it plays on my UK DSi just fine. I can even post a picture of it playing, with pictures of my US game card if you like. Geez. DS games are not region locked on the DSi, I know this because I play a US game on my UK console every day. Only downloadale DSiware is region locked. Thank you.

No it isn't a DS. It emulates the DS hardware.

DSi:  ARM 11 CPU @ 133 Mhz

DS/DS Lite: ARM 946E-S CPU @ 67 Mhz + ARM 7TDMI CPU @ 33 Mhz

 I suppose the PS3 3000 isn't a PSP, either, then.  It, too, has a faster CPU than the original model, after all.
