Forums - Nintendo - What kind of game would you make for Wii Balance Board?

No way. The balance board is not designed well for DDR, in my opinion.

You saw the dance game for Wii Fit right? Slow and boring as hell, right?

I suppose it could be faster, but it requires you to step on and step off, repeatedly. It would not be an improved DDR at all, just different, that's all.

The balance board is much better for...detecting balance than it is for rapid movements on the front, back, left and right of it. At least, that's the impression I get.

I was referring to jumping while shooting, and was pretty much joking, lol.

But let's say it detects weight and stuff (and hopefully kinda work similar to DDR board as well)... You may be able to play interactively with your leg while using the Wiimote, for let's say, a fighting game. How about you stompt your feet and then wag the Wiimote, and the character would reach up to swing the sword. Or you could do combo while using your hand and leg relatively? With that, you can play while sitting just as well as standing up. Who knows, it could work wonder or it may match a Zelda game very well...

I'm not saying Ace Combat would work, but if it were one of a few different choices, it wouldn't hinder anything. I believe THAT was the main issue with Lair; lack of the choice of analog.

As far as pinball goes, why would you hit both flippers at once? Isn't that more of a reflex action for people that can't follow where the ball is going in the first place?

To be honest, I'm more than a little worried about the Balance Board. I had great expectations for the Wiimote, and honestly there has been a bit too much waggle waggle coming from lazy developers. With the BB who knows what a dollar-blinded EA or Ubisoft will do to cash in quick. It seems to me that the options for the BB aren't that extensive. We've kinda went through them all already and none of the above ideas sound like it would make it that much better. Certainly not as revolutionary as the Wiimote. Granted, there will be certain developers that take a lot of mind altering substances or get visted by Shigeru Miyamoto in their dreams and awake with a divine revelation and do something truly innovative with this thing...but how many waggle/waddle gimmicks will they make that overshadow the gems?

Hmm for a fighting game that would sucks I think :s.  How are you going to do a
15 hit combo in godsake ^__^''?

Hmm can Link stomps :s?

Lol, after saying all that it's making me all excited what they would do with the Wiiboard. Hopefully it's not only WiiFit they are aiming for.

Hmm, maybe but I would not buy that Ace combat game then, I can not believe you can
have a easy dofight with a balance board :s.

I said that because many pinball games have situations with more than
one ball in the game :s.

lol, why not? It'll be a bit challenging, and you could count 1 stomp as 1 button you normally press as well. I don't think it would suck though...

As for why I say it may fit well with Zelda game, if I'm not wrong, Zelda game has always been an adventure game with different kinds of interesting puzzles incorporated into it... The extra WiiBoard somehow gives me an impression that it'll allow more kinds of unique puzzles.

The above are just rough ideas. I think they could be interesting or exciting. You never know unless someone actually makes a game like that... because, for example, how many have thought a game like Phoenix Wright would be as fun as it is before playing it?

Challenging haha XD.

Serious this reminds me of a person who said the bad controls of Lair are challenging XD.

Still for a fighting game it would be hard to make it a good one, the most fighting games
charatcters kick and stomp you ten times in less than two seconds, you will lose a lot of
calories to do that with the Wii remotes and the balanceboards _X.

Ok, I get what you're saying with the pinball now. To be honest I dunno. Maybe the tilt can be done on the Wiimote, to save the board for flipper motions only.

Well, I had that idea thinkining about sitting while stomping on the Board rather than standing while stomping... (though the WiiBoard probably doesn't function like the way I'm putting it) But seriously, it doesn't look that hard to me if they make the control well. Let's give a combo for example, and imagine you are sitting, stomp your right foot, then left foot, and press A; or err, Press A, then B, then stomp left foot, then right foot, it doesn't that long to make it...

But like I said, think of it as a button on your controller...

EDIT: Actually, it could work as well standing up or sitting down on the chair
