Otherwise, games that tend to get overlooked are The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, which uses motion controls brilliantly, and Deadly Creatures, which is hugely atmospheric and enjoyable. If you live in Europe, Disaster: Day of Crisis is also a lot of fun.

May I suggest two additions to WiiWare? Pearl Harbor Trilogy: Red Sun Rising - it's an arcade ww2 flight game.

and Fluidity - it's kind of a puzzle platformer and one of the best on the service. Rivals World of Goo if you ask me.

Also, I personally enjoyed FF: Crystal Bearers as well as Dewy's Adventure though I can understand if they don't quite make this list...

One more question: the list is getting a bit big in size but I guess that's a good thing ...still, have you considered changing the format a bit so that it's easier to browse and can also accommodate titles that are more "niche" in their appeal and may not necessarily represent the absolute finest in their genre?  Not that I'm complaining, not at all! But is it possible to have expanding menus for ease of access? Maybe the mods can do something about this since this thread is obviously a keeper, and should be more than just a "sticky" if you ask me.

Those are some awesome ideas, and I agree that the thread isn't as... to the point that I want it to be. Still, I dont want only "the best of the best" up in front while the more niche titles once again have to settle for the background. Yeah, I just have it by Genre/Alphabetical right now... we'll see what happens! Still though, I'm always in need of a good idea for this thread. Please keep them coming!

I bought Epic Mickey after debating with myself for at least 10 mins what game to treat myself to.  I looked at Sonic Colours and Kong but picked the Epic one and boy oh boy what a great game!!

I agree with Xans post that Mario Galaxy is no. 1.....I am on world 6 and taking my sweeeeeeeet time completing that game as I wanna relish every bit!

Also completed Goldeneye recently after taking about 15 attempts to save Natalya (on the easiest setting at that LOL). Loved the interactive fight scenes, could have done with a few more....and love the online battles!!

My wish list is now Kong, Okami, Kirby (25th Feb release in my local game shop), Sonic Colours.....any other recommendations folks?

Dude, I'm so glad you're enjoying Epic Mickey. Seems to get either two opinions: it's a good/average platformer with a bad camera or it's a magical game with a bad camera.

Yeah, Wii had a great year in 2010 no doubt. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also my favorite Wii game, and 2nd favorite game ever. It's just an experience that really defines why I love to play video games. Fantastic stuff.

As for your list... those are some amazing games up your alley. DK and Kirby are awesome 2D Platformers (really haven't put too much time into DK yet, but Kirby is simply smile inducing!), Sonic Colors is not just a great Sonic game, but a great Platformer in general. If you enjoy the Zelda formula, then I think you'll love Okami as well. Still one of my favorite looking games. I actually was in awe from simply running around. ^_^

You've got some great games ahead of you, but keep on playing each game slowly and deliberately. Each game should be loved and enjoyed as much as it can!
