Wow.. we are already in the part of the discussion where we analyze a game by the way we look playing it? This is progressing fast!

This topic was going no where fast to begin with. The Conduit is over hyped and will most likely bomb. THE END!

Awesome, we get your point.  You think the Conduit will bomb and you don't like Wii controls.

mjc2021, do everyone here a favor and just please leave the thread.  We know your thoughts and feeling and that's enough.

@everyone else

Just leave his comments alone.

Well, first off, the topic title is misleading. I went in here expecting to be able to write "Of course only Wii owners will care, they're the only ones who can play it", but then you apparently meant that if you own any other console you wouldn't care about The Conduit...

Let me ask, why is this? I own a 360. I'm getting The Conduit first day. Can you give me a reason why people who own PS3/360/PC as well as a Wii should not care about The Conduit? Particularly PC/Wii-gamers seem very interested since this is a FPS on a console that actually doesn't have crap controls.

So your reason why a PC gamer in particular should care about this game is because of its controls?  You would think this game would be a step back for PC gamers used to a gaming mouse and keyboard, very high resolution, superior graphics, superior physics, superior online, and some of the most revered FPS games in the genre.

You aren't reading my post. I never said PC gamers should be interested, I said they are interested.

@Legend11: Team Fortress 2 for PC is the game I play the most these days, and I'll still buy Conduit if it's a good game.

It's not a step backwards.

Because they can play a game that looks great, with great customization, and with better controls :)

EDIT: Before I get called off, its opinion...

Well, giving quantifiable reasons to justify one getting excited is why this thread is here.

Now, as for looking great, don't you quantify that with: "For a Wii game"?  Not sure it holds up at all against Crysis, Gears 2 or Killzone 2.

Looking Great: For Wii Game
Customization: Any Game
Controls: Any game

Well lets say a FPS game allowed for both 360 and Wii owners to play the same game online. Like some sort of online death match such as CoD World at War. Who do you think has the odds of performing better, people playing on a 360 control or people using a Wiimote?

Are you kidding. The wii mote by a mile. It wouldn't even be close. That's like asking who would win in Mario Kart DS. The snakers or non snakers.

Of course; It's got all the ingredients for a generic FPS: Aliens, pro-american to the point of absurdity style, guns, and more guns. The retards (the frat-core) will eat it up.

What is "fratcore"? People who like shooters like halo?

And madden, and GTA, and Guitar hero.....

Their the mindless consumer who only buys the hyped up "Cool" games, like the above and the summer movie tie-ins. They, along with the casual audience, for the bull-shit sandwich that traps actual games in a stat of cynicism and self-consciousness about their own hobby, because they are worried that these two combined monarchs of idocy and faggotry are so large that the studios and developers will cease any effort to produce actual games and just pump out endless shovel ware made of shooters, rapper-indorced piles of shit, and anything with 'sports' in it's title.

Does that help?

It would be great if Conduit also supported the Classic/GC controller so that this "dual analogs > Wiimote for FPS" myth would end with the resounding bang of a head exploding from a sniper rifle shot.

I have to agree that this is a pretty silly question. The Wii control scheme is the control scheme of the future. Quite simply, it bridges the gap between the duel analog, and the PC. While I believe that there will always be a solid place for duel analog controls, (for racing, and sports games) the Wii uses a controller that, once perfected, will provide a freedom never experienced on a console, at least from a FPS standpoint. I am having trouble adjusting to the new RE5 game because I got so used to the Wii RE4. I feel like I am fighting with one hand tied behind my back. One reason that people with other consoles should be interested in The Conduit, is that it is possibly a great game. Now who couldn't get excited about that? Another reason, is that the more trails the Wii blazes with its new control scheme, thats one less obstical that will have to be overcome, to make our gaming more enjoyable in the future. Innovation by any console, no matter who you pine for, should be commended, not hated on.

First of all: Good thread

Those who suck at playing with a gamepad should be VERY excited for this, those who have at least finished 3 console FPS shouldn't be so much, because the controls are a nonfactor after a while. It'll be probably a good FPS, but as OkeyDokey said most likely in the range of Turok and FEAR 2.

I also don't understand the fuzz about the customization. I've watched some gameplay movies about them and I haven't seen much what normal console shooter couldn't do already. The only usefull feature is the adjustment of the Deadzone, which is nice for Wii gamers, but unnecessary for non Wii games.
HUD costumization is also pretty useless and The Conduit is definitely not the first game which introduced that.

If you're looking for a nice shooter, then you will have something to look forward to.

I also want to point out that it's crazy that now Wii fanboys brag about their new control scheme and do the same exact things what HD fanboys did before with graphics.
I thought they'd know that it's all about personal preferences, but apparently they don't.
At least it shows that the Wii fanboys are as dumb as any other fanboy group :)

(Oh and btw whoever played in those Conduit gameplay movies did a really bad job. Such clips always shows me that the Wii controls aren't necessarily better than analog controls. It's always about experience.)
