This question is all too easy for me to answer!

1. Nintendo, Sega & SONY are the pioneers of the gaming industry. Without these greats, M$ wouldn't even be in the console war. In comes M$... tries to buy the 1st and 2nd, and, when cannot, tries their hardest to berry them all with their arrogance and $.

2. Buying almost everything has left them with NO identity! Come on, this is their 2nd console now, and still they don't have any feeling, style, face, sole, or mascot (other than the Master Chief).

3. Nintendo and SONY innovate, M$ buys, how can anyone respect this!

1. Um...A bit hard to say, but Microsoft has been making PC games for much, much, much, much, much, much longer then they've been making console games.

2. Really? They've been buying everything? So, you finally found the link where Namco/Sqeenix/Capcom/Rockstar have confirmed this? Show me, I'm interested to see how much they paid for Tales of Vesperia.

3. Yes, Nintendo does innovate. Sony?



GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

pretty much what i was about to answer... with the exception that I would have pound sony for the damage they did in term of quality in the VG market... I don't deny they pulled out some great title and moved the console business in the massmarket but at what cost???? by flouding the channels with a disproportionate amount of crap... with amazingly missguiding marketing strategies and lowered the average standard of quality in the video game industry......
before Sony's PS you had less games less customers but probably a higher average quality in percentage.... now it's the opposite.... best example for that change... the death of Dreamcast because it had arguably no games.... yeah no crappy games but the few we had were awesome.... and I'm missing that time... when we had less games but actually more effort put into it to make them worth the price tag....

Wasn't this discussed in another thread (one I think you were in btw), and it was shown that the Microsoft logo does indeed have a dollar sign in it outside the Microsoft building? I believe this was the one:

You cant really credit that with Nintedo either though, there have been motion sensing input devices since the 90's from companies like Gyration.  In fact if you limit to game controllers MS had one called the MS Sidewinder Freestyle Pro which functionally is almost identical to the sixaxis only its wired.

i never credited anything to nintendo.... I have been quoting the sidewinder freestyle pro with its compatibility with motocross madness (oh a first party IP from microsoft ;) just saying for the other ignorants) since people started to attribute motion sensor to nintendo and sony.... but even their I'm pretty sure I had seen some arcade games using motion capture or sensor before that... the concept is for sure not from nintendo or sony...
