I just finished Resident Evil 5 and was it just me or did it feel like the game had no atmosphere...?

I cant really explain what it was but something was just missing throughout the whole game...

I played it through with a friend and it just felt like i wanted to finish thegame because i have to finish off all the games i play....

Who else agrees?

RE is about being scary. This game is just another shooter...

It's a great game, but I agree with you. As long as you play this game without expecting to be playing RE, you'll have fun.

^Maybe that was what was missing....It just didnt feel like a good game for some reason...It was boring in a way....RE4 was different in that its story kept me going....This RE just felt bleh

I never said it was a bad game, but this game doesn't deserve to be called resident evil:5... But then again they'd look pretty stupid if they called their game 5.

I think they did a poor job in presenting the story in Resident Evil 5. Half the time I really have no clue what my objective is and why. All of the notes, radio calls etc. in Resident Evil 4 really helped immerse you in the story and you always knew what was going on.

Also I think too much of the game takes place during the day. Almost all of RE4 was at night, in the dark, and it definitely created a much better atmosphere for the type of game a Resident Evil is.

i didnt think much of demo but full game is very good.......leans more towards action but is still a good horror title, id give it 8.5 for single player and 9.5 iof u play it coop with a buddy...........siren is best survival horror ive played this gen but res5 is an awsome game with good atmosphere

What part of RE4 story kept you going?  Finding the president daughter? Resident Evil is about Bioweapons for warfare and then a horror game.  Thats why they call it Bioharzard.  RE5 had the bioweapons and documents that you read about the company and people that made the weapons.  RE 0,1,2,3 and CV all had this.  RE4 had very very little bioweapon warfare and a very stupid save the president's daughter storyline.  All RE games are fun but if you don't like 5 how can you like 4?

Honesty, RE was going to turn in a action game anyway by the story.  If you going to take down a  corperation you going to have to do it by force.  I'm surprise we did fight human Unberlla/Tricell security yet.  Like in CV.

I liked playing it as an action game but it didn't impress me the same way as RE4. Even before that, I liked the earlier RE games despite not being very good at them. While RE4 and RE5 share a lot of similarities, the enemies were almost too fast. I liked how they surrounded you more in RE4.

Just something about that game, I liked better. Also, the graphics are better in RE5, I liked the setting visuals of RE4 better.

Hell yeah! , i still havent bought it (all the episodes) but i played the first couple of episodes and they're awesome
