Sony talks so much BS. Huxley is coming out on 360/PC with 5,000 players PER SERVER and 200 player battles.

Not to be a douche, but MAG is supposed to be 256 player battles. :)

Not to be a douche either but the 360 version is said to be 120 player and not 200 player.

Not to be a douche or anything, but Huxley is probably not coming out on the 360.

I hear it is on hold, I haven't heard that it was cancelled yet.

On hold means 2 things normally

either

1. It has no chance in ever being released.

2. The will come back to it after finishing another version of the game.

Anyways Huxley is a special case. The lobby is of an MMO, there is a commander mode which allows RTS gameplay strategy forming, and FPS mode which allows for well shooting people.

Still MAG does have a higher player count per game. Its just strictly an FPS so Huxley might have it beat in terms of gameplay variety.

Still no matter what, no one will remember these games exist after Half-Life 2: Episode 3 is announced.

lol. Maybe if it was half life 3. But most of the singleplayer fps crowd =/= multiplayer fps crowd.

Not only that, it's also on a different platform..

And finally half life 2 episode 3 will probably be.. 4-6 hours long. After playing through that you won't just go "I'm never playing fps againz" lol :p

Check out my game about moles ^

PSN: franco-br
MGS4, GH, MW2, GT5p, WipeoutHD, etc..etc..

Well, Sony like to say this all the time, but it usually means...your game is going to sell ALOT less and you will PAY for going exclusive to sony.

Well, there´s a simple answer: X360 has been hacked ahd there´s many ways of cheating, and on PC this os a lot more obvious.

This game needs to distribute processing power and sync less information as possible to handle more than 200 users on the same batle.. so PS3 is OK for that, because it isn´t hackeable till now and there´s plenty GPU available ofr dong this on each PS3 as Peer processing.

So, this is it. End of discussion.

As a Xbot or PCbot you will say: Ohh ohhh but I play COD4 (on my X360 or PC) and there´s no cheating, ohh yeah, it´s true, but all is handled, processed and directed by the server, not MAG case. So, keep coll and accept this.

BYE

The PS3 isn't hackable?  Then how exactly do people set it up in clusters, and as super computers, and as grilling machines, and turn it into a laptop without hacking?

Also, "hacking" has nothing to do with what you are talking about as far as "ways of cheating".  What happens often times on the 360 is it is being wired through a PC and the PC is running the cheating programs, not the 360 itself.  The same can be done with a PS3.  If you really haven't seen cheating on any PS3 games, you didn't play online multiplayer enough.

you really didnt believe that ... didnt you ? O_o

Two didn'ts... what are you trying to ask me?

btw what you said is not hacking , Cluster computing , turning the Ps3 into a laptop is not really hacking since sony made it for you to use it that way

And hardware hacking, is hacking.  Sony did not make the PS3 so that you could change it into a laptop.  They did not design it to be torn apart and rebuilt in a new configuration.  What the OP is referring to is not even "hacking", it is simple cheating which can be done in many ways that doesn't even involve the hardware.  The cheating like I described above simply involves running various programs on a PC that your PS3 or 360 has been routed through.

(if you want) and linux made a special OS for the ps3 called yellow dog. hacking is like getting PSN games for free or getting online servers to close and kick everyone thats one way at looking at it.

SONY is correct.

That's why you see PS3 used in super computing for its raw parallel processing power.

You will never see regular CPU used in super computer because it's just not designed for it.

@OP:

What is this, a bad joke? Cheats making a game impossible on certain platforms? A terrible joke indeed.

Processing power? PC > consoles, no matter what you're trying to say. If I'm getting your peer processing right - isn't that what Sony hyped a couple of years ago - it would have happened already if it were to happen at all.

I can't wait for MAG. I know I don't have a PS3 but I'll convince my friend to buy it!

Owner of 360

Future owner of a PS3 (when it drops to $300)

Planetside was a MMOFPS (might still be around) that had way more than 200 people at a time battling. Way way more. It cam out like 6-7 years ago too. It came exclusively to the PC. It was developed by Sony Online Entertainment. Kinda disproves a lot of the theories for why it isexclusive in this thread.

Yeah, that's why IBM Roadrunner doesn't use, say, AMD Opterons along with the Cells...
