It's too soon, you can't expect VHS to carry the market for 20+ years than consumers to jump ship on its successor, DVD, after less than 10.

I agree it is too soon. Blu-ray has a much better picture than a normal dvd even on an sd tv.

The message says its selling like crud compared to dvd. But I am just telling you guys that blu-ray/hd dvd looks better on any tv.

but its not good enough to justify the price is the problem. personally upscaled dvds look almost as good. really i will only start buying either or when movies or shows i want only come out on hd formats

Christ Almighty, no it doesn't. You can take a jpeg (or Bitmap if it makes you feel better) and downscale each one... They're virtually indistinguisable. DVD is already taking advantage of 480i to its full potential. Upscaling makes it look so much better (but only on an HDTV).
