Forums - Microsoft - As an Xbox 360 fanboy, these are the things I am scared/comfortable with...

I really can't complain about this years line-up.

Halo Wars, Star Ocean 4, Tales of Vesperia, Halo 3 ODST, Risen, Divine Divinity 2

some of the following unconfirmed, but possible 2009 releases: Forza 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Mass Effect 2, Thesis, Dead Island etc.

and some great multiplat titles: Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter 4, Godfather 2, Assassins Creed 2, Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, Mafia 2 and many more

why would any gamer be scared anyway?

PS3: just too many games coming
Wii: just too many games coming
PSP: just too many games coming
360: are not happy unless they are desperate.

so, we almost are all happy.

I had to correct the misinformation you were spreading, sorry.

If you read the information posted in Game Informer it had a great amount regarding the upcoming Halo ODST. I will try to summarize.......

You play as a (special forces) ODST Marine who is dropped into a city during a Covenant invasion to offer defensive support and help in the evacuation of civilians. This takes place during the initial invasion of Earth Halo 2/3 time-line, while Master Chief is off kicking some major ass.

You have a few new tools such as a navigation system, night vision (which shows the enemy with a tint highlight, same as the trailer), and a silenced SMG. You have armor similar in strength to Master Chief, but no shields. You can't Halo jump, or move nearly as fast. Dont plan on those 1 hit but-stokes either......:(

When the mission begins you are dropped into the city but the impact of your pod knocks you unconcience. When you awaken the city is deserted of friendlies, and it looks as if the Covenant is now in control of the entire city.

There were several members of your team, who now only show as beacons on your GPS....I think like 7. You recon about trying to rejoin your team by locating the beacons. You can do this in any order you so choose, rather than a specific course.....very cool.

When you come upon a beacon you may find the body or weapon of the member of your team. When you do this, the game instantly flashes back in time where you are now playing the individual ODST Marine whos beacon/weapon you just found. Think of it similar as the show 24. You play the scenario up until the demise of the Marine seeing the combat and defense of the city through his eyes.

All in all, it seems like a really cool concept and I am extremely excited to see how it all plays out. Hope this helped a bit.

HUGS!!!!

@TheTruthHurts: That sounds really interesting. Its definately made me want to play it even more, its pretty awesome to think about what Bungie can come up with now they aren't constrained by releasing sequels along the same vein as Halo 1/2/3. I hope they can prove they have brilliance in creativity like other great developers to produce different, unique, and brilliant games at the same time.

I stopped reading there and thought: WTF ?!?!?!? ^^

@ Barozi......... LOL fixed bud......good catch.....:)

Lets see...

360 dominating PS3 in North America(~40% of the market)...
360 leading PS3 in Europe (~50% of the market...
PS3 dominating 360 in Japan (~8% of the market)...

Anyone that thinks that many great games won't be coming to the best selling HD console are just kidding themselves. PS3 gamers should count themselves lucky that the 360 is the HD leader, otherwise Sony might only be copying Nintendo instead of the both of the them.

What's "TV Calibration"?

But I do understand your point, kinda!

http://catalog.xna.com/en-US/GameDetails.aspx?catalogEntryId=24aafc19-8b5f-428e-818e-77f67c271ac0&type=2

We all bow to its greatness.

@ Badgenome: Halo ODST could even be an R.S.T.T., Real Strategy This Time.

I might have to pick up that TV calibration, thanks for the info.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
