If you want to stop it going in places you don't want it to go, rub lemon juice on the walls. Spiders can't stand to walk on it because it tastes really bitter to them (apparently they can taste it via their feet or some crazy shiz). It works though. If you put lemon juice in a kind of thick line around the walls below it, it won't go to the floor/in your shoes/lay eggs in your mouth while you sleep.

Get a broom, and just squish it.

First thing I thought when I saw that picture: "He's gotta be Australian." I guess I was right. My advice is to slam a container over it and slowly drag it down the wall until you're at the ground. Leave it there, and find something good for killing.
