Ok I don't know if 360 or PC users got a demo yet, but if you're an Annual subsciber to Qore you were able to download a Red Faction: Guerilla demo today so I played the Ps3 version.
The first 5 minutes of the game I wasn't really caring for it...probably because i really didn't know wtf was happening really. Walked through and the controls felt pretty smooth, took a few seconds to get use cause it's been a while since i have done a TPS. I can definetly say though the game feels like it should be played on PC and will be the platform im picking it up for.
After a while I started noticing little meters and how much money worth of damaged i caused how much building health was around, different ways i can destroy them and after my first death the game drew me in. I just had to destroy everything! I had fun expirementing destorying buildings with my sledge hammer then finding different things that explode in them and triggering them to explode, or just taking a huge APC and driving through every thing! I think they did really good with the cars you don't go through like butter but at the same time you don't just hit a barrier and stop dead in your tracks.
One complaint I have is you seem overpowered.....i can easily take on 4 - 6 guys heading straight on with just an assualt rifle and survive, however i don't know what difficulty setting the demo has you play on.
For Red Faction fans: As far as the universe goes, it seems to have that same setting but something seems a little off. Also the switch to third person makes it feel like an entirely different game. Your're definetly a man beast instead of just another guy overthrowing the company, and your character just in the demo feels a little....stale. Try the demo out as the qore one is just an early release if subscibers and will probably be in the PS store a week or two from now.
Overall: The destructability alone makes this game a blast. I just wanted to go around destroying everything and level the playing feild. As I said before in the first 5 minutes I really hated it, but once i started expirementing it just dragged me in. Give it a go, there's a demo and the game itself looks to be really long with 120 missions evidently. I can't really comment on story...it is just a demo afterall, but i will defintly be picking this up for PC.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Warframe, Witcher 2
