VGChartz games database has currently 1351 games listed for Wii:
836 boxed titles
385 Virtual Console games
130 WiiWare

Some of them are doubles and some games are yet to be released, but that should give us pretty good view about the range we're talking about.

@oyvoyvoyv: Most likely Sony is just spreading FUD with their PR. I believe they know that it doesn't effect Wii much, but they just want to give that impression.

I'd rather have a wii then a ps2 lol. Ps2 has a better gaming library, but how long is it out already?

@Oyvoyvoyv, not sure if the Wii has a better library than GCN yet but I was just including everything the Wii could play. However, if I wanted to go by that logic then the GCN would have a better library than Wii since it had the GBA Player. So the GCN would have GCN + GB,GBC,GBA games.

I got into an argument with people for a long, long itme about my opinion that the Wii's current library was better than the PS2's after an equal amount of time into the console's life cycle.

@sethnintendo: In number of titles? The current combined number, in VGC database, for GC is 643. Added to 1351 titles for Wii (=1994), that falls short from 2737 PS2 titles in the database. Besides, PS2 had BC too.

I propose a thread (made by Khuutra, he needs the money). "What is counted in a system's library" (or a better title, made by someone who isn't a Norwegian (mildly retarded)) (odd, I just made a () inside a ()). Then the options, or something. Maybe you could use flashgearpolls for a poll too (which would be better, considering most threads are just yes/no questions nowadays -  nobody appreciates the work of a mildly retarded Norwegian who thinks he is much smarter than he is nowadays). Ooh, used nowadays twice. That's neat... Or something.

I know. I was part of that argument (I believe). And I agreed with you... What I am doing now does not at all compare to that, does it? Or is one of us misinterprecting (or something... How do I spell that?) the other?

@bdbdbd, I was talking about quality of titles, but most younger people probably would disagree since they usually think the quality of NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, TG-16, Neo-Geo, etc.. aren't as good as PS1/PS2. Pretty much if we just compared games made for that particular system then the PS2 would be greater in quality. However, I believe the VC/WW/GCN/Wii games are greater than PS1/PS2 library in terms of quality.

Wii does have better games then the PS2, and it's a lot more fun to play as the Wii's motion controls are tight. It might not have the shooters yet, but overall it has more fun games. Sorry but it's very silly to think a PS2 could compete in sales with a Wii if a PS3 or 360 can't. I have a PS2 and it is no where near as fun as I have on the Wii. Sorry, this is very silly. Just because the PS2 is cheap now doesn't mean it will compete with the Wii, plus didn't already sell over 100 million, just about everyone has one already anyways.
