Really?

 You should try going back to FW 1.00 or 1.10. The PS3 has grown so much from previous FW updates -- almost all of which were smaller updates like this, that their is very little left to ask for. Sure cross-game invites, custom soundtracks in all games and cross-game voice chat would be nice - but their kinda small features that require alot of effort to implement once a console is out...

Yeah, I am loving this update. The Copy and Paste in the browser, faster profile loads, back data for video store content. Seriously, this update was great. Cross game chat will come in time, but it is not like it is the end of the world not having it. In reality, I don't see a lot of use for that feature outside of the extream hardcore. Friends will either game together on the same game, or just text/call eachother if they want to talk.

Plus I can think of 100 other updates I would much rather have that would completly change, and enhance the gaming experiance/social network portion of the PS3.

the voice chat should be comin soon and i heard they are doin it like 360 and makin it where u can listen to music while playin a game

You can do that yet, it's supported by the system software and it's up to the game developers to enable. For example you can have custom music in KZ2 multiplayer, but it's not enabled in the single player campaign. I don't think they will take the control away from the game developers.

That's also another thing that nags me about the - obviously under development, I think it was visible as an option in that 2.7 demo clip - voice chat feature. If they put it completely in the hand of players they will render useless some game mechanics that limit voice chat: squad channels, proximity chat etc
