Is it possible without a big price cut ?

Has to be a price cut, not sure how much..

If its Q4 it would have to be a $100 cut to achieve those numbers IMO.

Well, year over year PS3 sales seem to be down about 10% in 2009 and it doesn't have the benefit of having Grand Theft Auto 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 being released later this year ...

About the only way I could se their estimate comming true is if they reduced the price by $100 fairly early in the year and had some unannounced big games to release this year.

Sounds pretty strange... Unless they're seriously expecting MS's momentum to end, they have rather high expectations. After all, PSP getting all the games won't to too good for the PS3. PS3 on the other hand doesn't seem to be doing too well anywhere except for Japan (compared to last year).

Price cut confirmed? I hate this sentence but it certainly seems so. Because at that price, there's no way good games are going to help them that much and PSP alone can't sell that much even if this was a good year for it. I must say, though, that they might even announce a cut at E3 since they're expecting such high sales. That's because I'm not sure if a cut made in fall would make it in time...

Oh, and AFAIK it's 'rise', not 'rize'.

An early price cut would almos certainly net a higher overall revenue as the elasticity is higher as the price approaches the ideal for maximising volume. Therefore an early price cut of that magnitude would have larger effects.

PSP of course, especially with the software lineup announced for the console. $50 price cut in September and $50 November along with the immense amount of software coming to the console will make a 10% rise for the PS3 YOY a breeze.

Doesn't make much sense. Sony would need to cut the price for the PS3 and by a large sum as well. As others had already highlighted, th Ps3 is selling below 2008 levels and nothing seems to point to a change in this trend.
