Forums - Gaming - DSi is pure genius move by Nintendo

PSP-3000 already came out, so in that sense Sony made its move in advance, but it wasn't a new platform.

@TheChalkblock: Yes. The ones that use the camera.

@Axumblade: Since the camera is used in real-time picture processing, it can't be big sized due to the limited power of DSi. Besides, it also offers better quality pictures, since a bigger CCD doesn't need to be shrunk in size to fit inside DSi.

Thanks, wow I had no idea Nintendo is utilizing the camera in future games.

Hm. If they can actually pull that off then it might be cool. I'm sure I'll like it, if they do everything right.

Are you doubting Nintendo's ability at printing money?

^ two 0.3 cameras and a AAC player were the hardware updates oh, and larger screens, and turning the top screen into a touchscreen.

then a software store.. which also PSP got in a update acces to the psn store.

they will probably redesign (maybe a slider) too make it slimmer, nicer looking and improve the battery.

You missed a couple of things...

Serious?

Also, all the other thigns that people mentioned, such as SD card support. Yeah I didn't really read this whole thread

@Axumblade: I'd recall it was a Wario game that already featured the camera. It's seen in DSi trailer. I don't know what they will do in the future with it, but atleast it's already put in use.

On a side note, it's out tomorrow around here.

Printing money, No.

Making something interesting, possibly.

Contradicting yourself there.

DS combined Lite and DS have sold over 100 million portables in total. April 2 2009, Nintendo launch the Nintendo DSi. Two cameras inbuilt into the DSi, DS gets a redesign, DSi games are on the way and it is compatible with all DS/Lite games.

Now what the hell is Sony going to do now with PSP, to counter this genius move by Nintendo?

Why does Sony need to do anything about it?

It's the same DS sold in slightly diffrent package and "upgrade" from Lite to DSi is questionable for people with GBA games.

I'm pretty sure now that you can't put GBA cartridge in there Niny will try to sell you same game again through online shop.

hello nokia/Se/samsung/lg phones are less 15mm thin and have 3.2-5pmx from a 150$ starting price.

they are better sensors out there even with autofocus, real time picture processing its done by those 15$ camera phones too.

Just what is all this genius you speak of ?

PSP2

slider OLED screen
tilt(motion)
touch screen
Camers
Memoty Stick
Build in hdd
2 analog sticks

Full PS3 game playback

All psp dames on psn store, owners of psp games get to download then onto their PSP2

Would be cool ehh.

Agreed. That would be awesom... but the Apple Handheld that will be released eventually would be in there too
