Forums - Sales - Nintendo's Japan base crumbling? Wii sales only 39k last week..

Going to just 39K is not a good sign ,although its still two times the PS3 and a good number in itself ....

The wii is doomed its just a matter of time before Sony kills it.

You should be a financial analyst, with rock solid predictions like this and well thought out, rational arguments to back them up there'd be no stopping you.

You have to be a special kind of fanboy to fortell the demise of the best selling console in VG history.

I only hope you were joking.

P.S. Please tell us more about how badly MPC bombed , it really is good stuff!

Ordinarily, when I hear a comment like this I can see the obvious sarcasm. But in this case I don't think he is joking.

I completely thought it was a sarcastic comment at first, because who would ever say such a thing, right?  But then I saw that it was GranTurismo that said it.  I don't think he was joking either.

There's still no good measurement for how high demand still is for the Wii.

I have only ever saw one console on a store shelf, in the US still, and it was in the middle of being sold. I'm still in the market for one, just like a lot of my friends.

If you sell out a console, no matter what the area, it doesn't necessarily mean you're losing base support. It could be that simple answer of less being available - and a few people hit it right on, worldwide sales are up.

The Wii isn't even supply constrained in 2/3's of the world (Europe, Japan) at this point.

Typical holiday sales for consoles are 10 times or larger than other time frames, especially summer seasons.

While demand in summer is down, I highly doubt the Wii will be meeting demand come December.

Numbers: Checker Players > Halo Players

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.

I swear some people are ready scream from the rooftops with with printed "Wii Am Doom3d" banners.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Wii is doomed! It's a fad! God we should have seen this comming?! How could something that doesn't pander to the 15-24 year old age demographic actually make it in gaming?! We were fools! *throws Wii out of window*

Screw the Wii! Run for your lives! Sony is gonna get us all!

*gouges out eyes* I'm sorry Sony! I was a fool to stray from you! I was tempted by casual gaming! Why?!!?!?!?!?!

Worldwide sales went up. Nintendo shifted units.

QFT.  MP3, anyone?  One of the big three games came out last week.  It only makes sense for them to shift units to the US.

Honestly deep down I hope they are easily available now leading into october, it will give it a chance to get on the shelves and laguish for the holidays, Then when the big games hit instead of seeing the normal 100k weeks, Nintendo will ship their extra holiday stock + the Wiis that were already on the shelf and there will be huge hardware numbers.

Uhm.... as it's been said, the Wii is no longer supply constrained in Japan, at least not to any significant amount. ~_~

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.
