Sony has 15-20 new games planned for PSP1 for the next year.(from assasin's creed all the way to jack and daxter and silent hill)

Now you guys tell me why would sony announce a new PSP(PSP2) in 2 months when they have so many games planned for the this year?it just doesn't make sense imo.

PSP 4000 is possible but PSP 2 is not possible.

Yep no need for a psp 2. Is there another more powerful portable out there? PSP's specs are not the problem, software is.

I dont expect a 4000 this year, but I do expect the psp to be dropped to $139.99

its possible we may have an announcement regarding a playstation phone that plays PSP games via download, that wont be an upgrade but a completely digital platform that would sell along side the PSP 3000.

Im hoping they cut the price though, not only would it help boost sales in the west, but I really want a black psp 3000, im not too fond of my white 2000.

 This, this last 3 months shitloads of games has been announced for psp, so for this year and next Sony dosent need to announce psp2.

I totally agree. With the wealth of games coming to the PSP there will be no reason to announce a new handheld. The PSP is still selling also. Its not like it is only selling a few each week. I do not even see a PSP 4000 being announced at E3. I guess we will have to see when E3 happens if anything PSP related is announced.

You're right, the PSP2 won't be shown until 2010 at the earliest. I'm expecting a PSP-4000 or some kind of upgrade though. Maybe the "PSP Slide" which was rumoured a few days back.
