Always entertaining when peta or greenpeace talks.

This. A poor rating purely for lack of information should be clearly stated as such.

Greenpeace is a PR organization. Their goal is to make headlines, not to improve the environment.
Nintendo always rates last on this list because Nintendo doesn't submit information to Greenpeace. They are basically just being vindictive towards a company that doesn't play their game.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
Greenpeace Schmuck A: "Damn, Nintendo is really raking in the money now and it's famous again too."
Greenpeace Schmuck B: "Hot damn! Quick, criticize them for free publicity!"
Greenpeace Schmuck A: "I'm on it!"
Wow, I didn't think most people here would not care about Nintendo's attitude. Greenpeace is stupid on many ways but that list isn't actually bad. Electronics are causing a lot of pollution and it's no wonder Samsung and Nokia are at the top while Nintendo is last. Don't you think Nintendo doesn't send the information because they don't have an environmental program at all?
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
Nintendo has not had a good "relationship" with Greenpeace, that is for sure.
As for this list, I think Nintendo provided a bit of info last year ... after being prodded into it. But it was not deemed sufficient by Greenpeace. Also, some officials at NCL have made "less than enlightened" comments regarding some of these issues (I think the particular comment that I know of was about recycling), further drawing Greenpeace's ire.
Plus, unlike a lot of these companies, Nintendo is a "one trick" (or "two trick") pony. Without the diversified product line, having specialty products or specially-manufactured products is much more difficult.
Finally, without some effort to verify the statements of companies and without consideration of power consumption, there are major problems with the list.

I wonder if Nintendo's contempt for Greenpeace goes back to the protests of the Japanese whaling industry.

This is total one-sided nonsense. They couldn't be bothered to factor in how the Wii uses something like 1/8th - 1/10th the power of the ps3 and how that impacts the environment.
The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.
They get criticized by the same people in the same article every 3 months I swear.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
There was a thread early last year on this site about console power consumption and the Xbox360 and PS3 used something like the power of a small village per 24 hour period switched on whilst the Wii could be powered for 3 months on a gnats fart.
Although my summary may not be entirely accurate.
