if FF does indeed use 100% poower of the ps3.. does this mean the ps3 crashes if I try and access XMB during GAMEPLAY? :)
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

PS3 will be at 101% power, change itself in black hole and sucks in entire universe.

lmao!!

You will need to overclock cell to get to xmb while playing :)
But more seriously I can only see reduction of cutscenes quality due to lack of space on DVDs (or maybe M$ is giving SE special price on royalties for 6 disc game :D )

Not really. It's not exactly hard to work with the 360 as it is with ps3 so it wont be a bad port. Might not even be a ps3 port at all since XIII is being developed on pc. The 360 version even has a chance of looking better.
Why do I get the impression that devs are confused about what this statement would actually mean?
I mean really, why would the demo use any less power than the full retail game? A whole 50% less? It is the same code, it is a portion of the full game so there is no reason for such a percentage change between versions.
Could this actually be a translation issue? Maybe they meant it would take up nearly all of the space on a Blu-Ray disc.

Oh gosh not more of the % of PWAH USAGE AVAILABLE hype bullshit.
It's a lame and despicable form of marketing to generate hype and buzz that preys on ignorance.
Square already announced that FFXIII's cinemas and music were going to be compressed for the 360 version. So, the game might not be crippled but it will be pretty much like wanting the blu-ray version of The Dark Knight and having to settle for the dvd version instead.
I think they must be saying that it's going to take up 100% of the space on a blu-ray in its uncompressed form when they're saying it uses 100% of the PS3's power, so maybe Advent Children and the demo use 50% of a blu-ray?
Even though it won't be crippled just the dvd version rather than the blu-ray version, after the PS3 version sales a million + units in Japan later this year, the only thing the 360 version will really have any affect upon is adding a little more money to Square's coffers. It won't alter any success that the PS3 might have if the game was an exclusive worldwide. Other exclusives coming to the PS3 as a result of the game's sales in Japan like NG Sigma II will offset that.

Wrong. In the west, Final Fantasy is a major franchise. Being multiplatform, the uptick it will generate in hardware sales will be split.
In Japan however, things will be different. It'll be interesting to see if Final Fantasy can resurrect the ps3. Second runners have never caught up over there, ever.
